Parking can be a bit of a pain, but you once you find a spot you can spend hours on the patio of this laid-back neighborhood bar.

Cold Breakfast, Cold Coffee, Cold Shoulder – Stand in line to order breakfast from a single bartender taking orders. Coffee is served by the batender from behind the bar so when you want a refill, you get to stand in line again and wait. My wife ordered decaf and after standing in line, she was told that the refill was not free and she would have to pay again. Easy decision not to pay as the coffee (both regular and decaf) was lukewarm. Someone I didn't know in front of me in line politely mentioned that the coffee setup was terrible; she was rudely told to email the manager and ignored. Our food arrived cold, nothing worse than cold biscuits and gravy. Management must have **** for brains to have a system like this. Stay away!

Great food and nice atmosphere – At first, I thought this place would be a loud, annoying "bar." WRONG. The music was great, the atmosphere was fun and the burgers - yum yum. Love this place and will definitely be back.

Such a Disappointment.... Stay Away – First let me start off by saying that i enjoy the other establishments owned by the Creek Group.

But for some reason their Canyon Creek location has been in my opinion a complete disappointment.

The service staff at this location are complete morons and D-Bags. Started off when the bartender was extremely rude to us while taking our order.

In addition they incorrectly charged my card not once but twice. I'll stick to the other two Creeks but i'll be never coming back to Canyon Creek.

Casual neighborhood hangout, with an Austin feel – I'm a big fan of all the "Creek" bars/restaurants, and am happy to see them joining the Washington Ave. area. You know Canyon Creek will stick around long after many of the trendy bars are long gone. With it's casual vibe, "come-as-you-are" (but don't bring your dog) attitude, and better-than-average bar food (yay for decent salads and sweet potato fries), I will definitely be a regular here. Housed in an old bar and grill building, the inside is like a bigger version of the inside of Onion Creek, with plenty of seating. The "outside" consists of a few table squeezed on the sidewalk in front of the parking lot. BUT - when the weather's nice - I just know they will be opening up the giant garage doors on the front of the place. The jukebox was broken the night we were there, but whoever was controlling the ipod behind the bar was my husband's music twin - lots of 70s rock, which prompted more than a few people to sing along. Overall, it's a great addition to the Creek family, and an even better addition to the neighborhood.

Citysearch Editorial Review – Ever expanding its Heights restaurant empire, the Creek group (Dry Creek, Onion Creek and Cedar Creek) has added Canyon to its roster of burger-centric hang-out spots. The long, rectangular building off the west end of Washington Avenue is done up in owner Gary Mosley’s preferred Austin roadhouse style, but without the expansive outdoor seating we’ve come to love about Creek restaurants. Still, all the indoor tables and couches are carefully arranged to encourage customers to linger over a drink from the full bar (try the sweet tea vodka) or a sandwich and it’s that attitude that defines Canyon.
