Mama Mia, It's so Good! – Went to Olio last night with a bunch of friends. The weather was so nice and we decided to dine al fresco. It is a cute little patio on the sidewalk with views of the hustle and bustle of 6th Avenue. We all shared a few bottles of Riesling and Chardonnay, trying to desperately hold onto our summer drinks of choice. It was the perfect match to the Fiorentina salad that I ordered. I asked for a little extra mozzarella cheese and the staff was so accommodating with no charge extra. And once it was time for my Spaghetti Pomodoro, I switched to a Chianti!! The spaghetti was awesome-so fresh and tasty. I decided to keep it simple in the food department because we were all going out after to a friend's birthday at Forum. So glad I did. Will definitely be more adventurous next time!

Giulio Adriani started making pizza in Italy at 13; he’s now 39, and an expert five times over. And he has the awards--highlighted on the menu of his Greenwich Village Neapolitan pizza place--to prove it. His Argento di Napoli (cream of broccoli, smoked mozzarella, rapini, ricotta, lardo, salsiccia and edible silver), for example, won the America’s Plate award for World’s Best Pizza, while the Margherita Extra (cherry tomatoes with bufala mozzarella) won the Italian and World pizza championships. Purists will flock to these and other pies, with homemade pastas and antipastis rounding out the offerings.

Must avoid!!! – I wish I could pick ZERO stars! I must say, I have lived in this city for 6 years and find it most difficult to find a HORRIBLE restaurant. The competition is so fierce that it is hard to find a bad one...most are at least 3 stars...Anyway, in search of a new venue a friend and I set out to the village. We saw this very attractive restaurant, nice decor, very busy. The very attractive hostess greeted us with a smile as we perused the menu outside. We decided to give it a try. We started with a brochette appetizer..the bread was stale, and the toppings were tasteless. The pizza then was next, undercooked, and tasteless as well. The eggplant rollitini was like rubber and the side dish of spinach was frozen spinach, not even fresh.....I have NEVER gone to a restaurant and not received fresh sauteed spinach. I think this was the WORST restaurant I have eaten in ever in NYC. So much so that I felt like I had to join this site to write a review. The fare here would make you anticipate an inexpensive menu, but it was moderate price for poor poor quality food. The waiter was also borderline rude and fighting with the manager in front of customers the whole time. I found this all very surprising because it was pretty crowded for a Tuesday night....I would not eat here for free.
