Citysearch Editorial Review – With its weathered teal paint, Formica counter and vintage cooler behind the bar, Cafe Colette is almost Keith McNallyian in its atmospheric perfection, though it feels more like a charming old Southwestern cafe than the Parisian bistro it purports to be. The lazy vibe makes it a great place to while away an afternoon at the counter with the Times or camped out in one of the big red booths with a crew. The menu manages to be both limited and all over the place--among the short list of options, you'll find ribs, Chinese chicken salads, and lobster rolls--and is just passable by New York standards. That may change as the restaurant matures, but it may not even matter--Colette is pretty enough to get by on her looks.
