Boo! We got pizza and salad to take out after walking in and expecting to sit down and have dinner in the restaurant. The atmosphere seemed cold and empty although the waitress was very friendly and accomodating, maybe we were just expecting a place to get good pizza on the fly. We ordered just enough food for a couple to eat and I was shocked at the price. For take away pizza and salad the food was extremely overpriced. The slices to go were not heated up so by the time we got home, less than a mile, the pizza was stone cold. The salad, The Capriccio, was good but it is a salad and even I can make a good one. My date had ordered a calzone and he said it was very nice but I was so disappointed that yet another LA pizza place is so LA.
Great Italian pizza – Well, I really like the pizza at Il Capriccio. It reminds me of Italy (I lived there for a year) nice and thin and crispy/chewy with moderate toppings, not some gargantuan dough-ball american gut-bomb. The first time I ate there, I had been at Mozza a few weeks before, and I liked Il Capriccio's pizza just about as much. I always bring a bottle or two of wine, discretely. A nice meal is their antipasto platter, salad and pizza, made for any number of folks, sitting out in the back courtyard, which only needs strings of lightbulbs to make it more atmospheric instead of the one bright lightbulb above the door. If Chef Kelly is there, put yourself in his hands and let him work it!
good pizza has arrived in los feliz – i can't say enough about how great this pizza is. after moving out here from NYC, i am finally happy with pizza! the cheese is incredible, delicious thin crust, impeccable sauce. the diner setting is cute and they have a few outdoor tables. i've been so satisfied with the cheese and pepperoni that i haven't tried any of the specialty pizzas but they look incredible. you wont be disappointed here!
Authentic Napoli Pizza!! – Finally gotto taste this new offshoot of Il Capriccio on Vermont, after months of waiting! Really good pizza, awesome crust (thin, airy) but people need to be warned that this is not the typical pizza with lots of sauce, cheese or toppings. As with authentic Italian pizza, they use ingredients sparingly, but they're of really high quality & freshness. I loved the Bianco!!!
