The Only One I Trust – I am finally looking into taking my son on a cruise after many years of wanting to. I just happened upon these reviews by accident while looking for the phone number and I had to respond to the negative remarks. I'd never heard about the issues, but I was around at the time of the Cruise Give-Away. And as a marketing director for over 15 years, I can safely backup Tom's response. The give away was for a cruise and not cash. And there was a time limit... as there always is for this type of marketing. As I have stated, I have not gone on a cruise as of yet, but I can state firmly that I have met many, many of his very satisfied (repeat) customers. They swear by this man and with good cause. I have tried to speak to several travel agencies recently, but not one of them knew much about the actual cruises. Actually, 4 out of 6 of them had never even been on a cruise at all. If you want your questions answered and your fears quelled, Tom is your man. As for his business dealings, I trust the masses of satisfied customers that I have personally met at his grand opening of his storefront.
Reply – I did offer a free cruise (not cash towards a cruise) to the winner of the honeymoon contest at a local wedding show. The rules stated that it had to be taken within one year of the drawing and had a value of $750. The winners first requested an extension of the date until the following year. Although under no obligation to do so, I extended the date to make them happy.
Then they found another cruise on line that they wanted instead of the complimentary cruise. I had already had several long converstaions on the phone telling them about necessary pre cruise information (dress codes, proper identification, what to do on the islands, etc.) and now they wanted to buy a different cruise online. Against my better judgement I agreed to send them the value of the cruise.. there is a big difference between giving them a cruise and sending them cash. This has all happened just as I moved into my new store downtown. I informed them I would be sending their money as soon as I could, but not before.
I have only been civil and professional with them, never snide or rude. I have even requested an address confirmation as late as November 23 (via email) and have yet to have reply.
I have been a cruise consultant for 16 years now. I am a top account with most cruise lines (sales). A great many of my clients have been with me since the beginning. In fact, some of my passengers are adults that I once sent on cruises as children. I have sailed more than 10,000 passengers in that time and the ONLY complaint I've had is from the winners of a free cruise.
To further clarify, they bought their cruise on line from some one else. They never "paid me half". I have never recieved or taken any money from them. They bought a cruise elsewhere rather than take the free one. I don't know what cruise they took or from whom they bought it. I'm afraid their wording is mis-leading.
Tom Pecena lied to me. – Tom participated in a cruise givaway. He promised my wife and I 750 dollars to use toward the cruise of our choice. We do not make much money, so this was a big deal for us. We booked the cruise, and paid for half up front, expecting Tom to send us a check as the final payment date approached AS PROMISED. He never sent the check. In fact, he hardly responded to our emails, and did not answer our calls. Only after much pestering did he give us a snide reply, saying he would pay us when he felt like it. That was two years ago. Tom seems like a very nice guy at first, but if you aren't paying him, he changes. He is not nice to us anymore. He has become snotty and indignant. We've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and he responded to them saying the same thing: "I'll pay them when I feel like it."
Anyway, Don't be fooled by Tom's nice guy pretense. He wants your money and does not seem to care about his obligations.
You won't be disappointed! – Ahoy Cruises helped a friend and I book a graduation cruise on the Carnival Conquest. I loved that they took plenty of time to help us choose the right cruise for us and our budget. We had never been on a cruise before and there were a lot of options that the staff explained very clearly so that we were extremely happy with everything on our vacation. The office is awesome and you get customer service that cannot be rivaled. I will definitely be using them for my next cruise...and I hope its soon!
He made our first cruise so efforttless we booked another! – Tom booked our honeymoon cruise for us and was so knowledgeable, efficient and personable that the whole experience was fantastic! It was so great, in fact, we had him book another cruise for us the very next year for our anniversary. Again, everything was smooth as silk and we had an absolute blast! I trust him completely and would recommend him to anyone!
Ahoy Cruises - The greatest...... – Tom at Ahoy has been our cruise agent for about 13 years and we have been on about 15 cruises. We have never been disappointed and feel that Tom is very knowlegable about all your options. He is always willing to go the extra mile for you, even getting you extra information on the ports that you are visiting.
He makes the trip so special from your front door to the return by arranging a car to take you to and from the airport..
We highly recommend Tom and Ahoy Cruises for all your cruising,
Ahoy Cruises is the best! – I would like to highly recommend Ahoy Cruises. Tom has planned many cruises for me on eight different cruise lines. Tom has a real love for cruising and it is a pleasure doing business with him. He has always helped me to find just the right cruse at the best price.
Our last cruise was the best yet. Tom recommended Sea Dream for us. We cruised the caribbean on a small luxury ship that carries around 100 passengers. We loved everything about it from the islands we visited to swimming and snorkeling from the back of the ship.
Whatever you are looking for, give Tom a call and he will put together the perfect trip for you.
Ahoy Cruises – Tom Pecena sent me on the Wind Star to Barbados...I throughly can recommend Tom and the staff, he is throughly knowlegdeable, but also he has real passion and about the cruises ship business and his own business.
He had a car sent to my home and I had a overnight in New York, which including the hotel. All arrangements went off without a hitch and i had a wonderful experience.
So if you are thinking of arranging a cruise, trust me its the place to book through.
