food is nice but you go for the club. the easiest wasy to get into the club is to eat there first
MUST READ – My friends and I go out a lot, and never had this awesome experience, and not just thanks to lavo, but thanks for a guy who works there.
we got the contacts of this guy eric, who works for the place, and ordered a table a day before. get this:
1. no line- while the line was prob over 30 mins (in the cold, sexy cloths..)
2. the table he gave us THE BEST table in the club. it really made a big difference. right by the dance floor!
3. lavo has a very high minimum order, and eric let us in for half of that minimum!
4. this is the best part.. while we were admiring the location of the tables, and others were thinking that we were VIPs, he sent over 2 free drinks!
i never had so much fun in one night!! we partied like crazy till sunrise and simply had the time of our lives.
I can't stress this enough:
do yourslevs a favour- don't go to lavo without calling eric up. just find out what he can offer you. (646) 493-2964
you can thank me later lol
Top notch – Came here today for Resturant Week lunch.
Service was efficient and fast. The portion sizes for each dish were very generous.
The table garlic table bread was an entire loaf dripping in butter and garlic, serviced with a side of pizza sauce. It was so good!
My friend and I ordered the tuna tartare, vegetable minestrone and margherita pizza. No complaints so far.
For our entrees, we had the penne a la vodka and the salmon. The fish was normally cooked a bit rare the waiter tells us, so we opted for well done. It was cooked perfectly, not dry at all. The salmon was so smooth it felt like I was eating a terrine. Not much of a fishy odor normally associated with salmon.
For desserts, we chose the NY Style cheese cake and the Oreo zeppole with vanilla malt shake. It was fried Oreo cookies with a mini glass of vanilla shake topped with another Oreo cookie.
Yep, the owner sucks too bad for this nice place – The club is not big but nice the door is tough and once inside your money talks and I agree with previous comments JAYMA CARDOSO SUCKS she's partner of the place but has no education and no class attitude at all she was calling the security to kick people dancing around her table she was acting like a star while she's absolutely not i heard her using bad language toward some people...not worth it to spend your money in places owned by this kind of person where they want just your money and treat you like...if you want spend money and party nice and classy go to the trendy clubs in Soho they are known only in the intimate NY trend people but worth it your money and energy
Great for an exclusive party-night – LAVO is one of my favorite clubs in Manhattan.

So much fun. – I just went to lavo this past weekend and had an absolutely amazing time. We had a small problem getting a table but the hostess did everything she could to make it work and it turned out fine. The DJ was phenomenal. I think his name was Drek - I will definitely be back to see him! Overall it was a very fun night! A little pricey, but what isnt pricey in manhattan?
I had a great time and will definitely be back!
LAVO - DO NOT GO HERE!!! – Called ahead to verify no guest list? Check.
Looked at reviews to see if an OK establishment for a birthday party? Check.
Cover charge of $20 per person? Check.
Got into club? NO.
DO NOT GO TO LAVO!
Like you, I looked into the club reviews for Lavo which were almost all negative. I chose to ignore these reviews since it seemed so excellent in pictures but I really wish I hadn't.
As we waited in line to enter at 11:00pm we saw numerous people get kicked out of line for various reasons. Although we didn't think much of it, once it was our group’s turn to enter we were also immediately kicked out of line. The excuses varied from "guest list only" to "your outfit is not professional enough" to "there are too many Hispanics in the club already" and the classic "you need a bigger females:males ratio than 5:2."
The bouncers will choose from a list of excuses to kick you out of line. Period. I am impressed, however, that the bouncers were able to memorize a list given anyway since their biggest accomplishment in life was probably obtaining a GED.
Put simply, it is "Bouncer's Discretion" which is a little term that means your wallet or your chest better be big and open. If you're salary is >$100,000 and you’re a middle-age busty white female - go for it. If not, stay away and go somewhere were you won't have to wait so long to get rejected.
Great Food. Great Nightclub. Great Everything! – Tuna Tartar. Kobe Meatball. Chicken Parm, Oreo, Zeppoles. Great drinks.Great staff. Great DJ's. Great vibe.
NINJAS. – OK so went to LAVO nightclub today.
