There are so many reasons to love Caesar's, not the least of which that it has no less than three chocolate boutiques inside (see my Vegas Sweet Shops guide), the epic Bacchanal buffet, some of the best luxury shopping on the strip (or luxury window shopping, depending), and the amazing Garden of the Gods pools. Rooms are lovely and bright and come with free entry to Pure nightclub, for you party people.
Old school and yet modern, Caesars Palace is a Vegas must see. Go to the Forum shops and walk around the hotel and grounds. So much has gone down here it's nice to soak it all up. I especially like the little Asian prayer garden by Serendipity 3.
The hotel here is huge! The have many towers and cover a lot of ground on the Las Vegas strip. The structure inside and out models Rome.
I love this place – I have a blast whenever i'm here. From the forum shoppes to the casino, it just seems like this is the perfect city within a city! It is almost like being on cloud city in starwars. You are pretty sure that there are other cities in the clouds, and they may be nice, but there will never be anything like this one!
Seriously though, there is everything you would ever want right here.
...Still feels like you can go to different worlds whenever your in vegas. (AND you can be whomever you'd like to be!)
Underrated Gem! – Considering the many over-hyped restaurants in the vicinity, this place is unfortunately often overlooked. The ambience is comfortable and service is attentive without being intrusive. Appetizers of oysters and soup was refreshing and set us up for a great trio of main courses. Stir fried main lobster was nicely done. Reminded me of upscale cantonese fried rice. Dig the light crisp on the rice! Grilled shrimp and scallops were perfectly done. The Thai-influenced red curry sauce on the noodles complement the seafood nicely. The star of the show was the braised (?) beef short ribs. The meat was not fatty and perfectly done. So tender, so flavorful.....the best I have ever had. Everyone should give this place a try.
Good flavors, but too pricy – I had the chef's tasting and was pleased with all of the entrees, although I did switch the salad for a lobster bisque that was outstanding. The girl at the bar didn't know ANYTHING about alcohol at all. She had to look up how to make a long island iced tea! Overall, the food tasted great, but the portion was small for $96 plus tax + tip. I would only recommend this if you have nowhere else to go at the Caesar's.
Acceptable if you can't get in at the great places – Recently spent a weekend in Vegas and wasn't sure what time I'd arrive on the first evening (Friday), so I didn't make reservations. I managed to get into 808 (without problem).
The food was definately acceptable... pacific seafood that made me happy.
The bar only seats about 6-8 people, so don't plan to linger before dinner. The restaurant also pushes up very close to the bar... I saw one poor couple seated at the table only a few feet from the bar, and a few inches from the main traffic area.
The restaurant is right off the casino, and was fairly loud. This was not a relaxed meal- it was crowded and noisy.
Overall: yes, eat here if you can't get into the great places (and there are dozens in the area).
Tasty Euro-Pacific cuisine inside one of the Strip's giant hotels. – In Short
Delicate orchids float in glass bowls, while bright green bamboo, white paper lanterns and silver fish decorate the room. An elite clientele relaxes in woven leather chairs or at the small bar. The menu features subtle flavors tastefully combined in seafood and meat dishes. Thai-style coconut red curry basil soup with shellfish is accented with lemon grass. Other entrees include buckwheat soba noodles in sesame soy vinaigrette and tandoori chicken in curried broth.
didn't live up to my expectations – Having had eaten at the chef's restaurant on Kauaii and having a wonderful meal there, we had high expectations that we would have a similar experience. We opted for the chef's tasting menu which included a deconstructed ahi roll for an appetizer which was the highlight of the meal. Subsequent courses served much too quickly included a surf/turf salad which was unmemorable, a thai lobster soup that was way over-spiced, yet was flat..., and a sesame crusted mahi-mahi that was charred within an inch of it's life, and some excellent quality tuna that was also charred on the outside. We sent back the charred outside pieces, and ate the sushi-grade center. The drinks were good, but expensive, and the ambience was confusing. It had a definite contemporary asian feel, but the music was better suited to a hip, urban bar.
