Horrible Service – We went over to Buca's today because it was a beautiful day and we just wanted to get lunch.

We sat on the patio and never recieved any service, the tables around us were being helped so we inquired with the hostess.

The waitress was really rude. We caught her name, it was Jocelyn. Then after 40 minutes - - we got our drinks, sorta. Only 3 of them. The 4th drink came 10 minutes later from the bar - - and it was wilted and warm.

We asked if she could get us utensils and if she could take our dinner order. She snapped back "Can you wait a minute?" in a angry tone.

Then when we got up and left, we walked by and told her we were leaving because we didn't think the service was good and her and her friend said "yeah, have a happy "mudders" day - because they had no class.

We called later to report this to the manager, and the hostess asked what it was about and put us through to "Danielle" the manager. She wasn't. And she laughed and said "well, if you won't be back, then why are you calling?"

Well.. .an apology would have kept me from posting a review. That was our 3rd visit since it's been open. Our first was Opening night. We were excited to see what was taking over Vinny T's. It was pretty good. Then we took some guests from out of town, and the food was cold, dry and they couldn't get anything together. So we agreed, we weren't going to return. We wish we stuck to that.

Mother's day.. on a beautiful day. TON's of available tables.. What's wrong with that picture?

Don't bother. Let it close down so something better can take over that premier location.

Delicious, expensive. – I took my family out for a celebratory dinner at Bucca and loved it.

The food is definitely more pricey than I could afford to pay regularly but, for a special dinner, this is the spot.

They have family-style servings, so don't make the mistake of ordering large portions. You won't need them unless you're looking to have leftovers.

Their house sangria mixed drink was delicious (if expensive) and came with a free glass.

They were happy to take a special order for my son and the lasagna was absolutely outstanding.

Recommended if you can pay a pretty penny.

Good food, tacky atmosphere, expensive alcohol & appetizers – We went to Buca di Beppo in Shrewsbury with our brother and sister-in-law for lunch on January 30, 2011.

The location is great, overlooking Lake Quinsigamond. The interior decor from the previous Vinnie Testas has been replaced with interesting photos hung high around the main dining room. So, you can look around and make conversation about those while you are waiting for your food to arrive.

Another source of conversation were the large lemons, oranges, eggplants and tomatoes that had been placed all around the walls and trim and which looked like they had been painted by middle school age art students at best. We thought this was a very strange interior design choice. Looked like something you might paint on the walls of a child's bedroom maybe?

Then comes the sticker shock of the menu. Well....thank goodness it's 3 PM and we can order off the lunch menu. I guess we all know how waitstaff are taught to pad the bill by suggesting additional items you might want to try. And this certainly happened here.

First, our waitress kindly suggested the most "ooey gooey garlic cheesy bread you've ever had" as an appetizer. We were happy to comply and ordered some. Of course she neglected to mention that 4 pieces of what was basically just italian bread with cheese on top costs $11.45. Next we order drinks. Most places provide draft beer as the most reasonable choice money-wise. Again the waitress suggested the italian beer Peroni on draft. Well...were in an Italian restaurant, sure we'll try it. Again, no mention of cost just a friendly suggestion. Well...the final bill revealed that a large Peroni on draft costs $7.75. We ordered 3 at a cost of $23.25 and by comparison could have bought a case of 24 - 12 oz. bottles at Julios in Wesborough instead for $28.99. Are You Kidding?

Last, I ordered the Apple Gorgonzola Salad which contains Granny Smith apples, spiced walnuts, dried cranberries and Gorgonzola cheese tossed with their fresh lettuce blend and signature Italian vinaigrette for $9.99. You can add chicken for an additional $2.00 which I did. I also ordered an extra side of the caesar salad dressing -- the only other choice they have for dressing -- but it never appeared so I did not get to try it. The waitress appeared to ask how everything was, as usual mid-bite, so as everyone else nodded fine I did not get to tell her it was missing. Also, if there was 2 OZ of chicken on the salad for the additional $2.00 I would be shocked. I guess they ran out of chicken.

Final bill for four people for LUNCH with an $18.00 tip: $143.00. So much for being relieved that we could order off the lunch menu. Too rich for our blood. Big city prices.

Pucca Di Berpo – My father and I were very disappointed with this place which had been hypiing itself through its signs at its location on Route 9. Who opens October 19th and not be completely ready? The place has NO LIQUOR LICENSE as yet. That is going to piss people off, and or just send them booting right from the store.

Then both our entrees came - while average at best - with heavy fettucine. Could we not have been given an option as to what kind of pasta - maybe marina as a side instead of having this plunked on our place.

The Chicken Limone and Chicken Saltimboca at lunch had no substance really and the portion was way too small for the price - even as a lunch portion and further aggravating the situation was the hostess who greeted us on the way out and the way in who was way too obsequious and had the most annoying cringe-worthy voice.

That set the tone for the whole meal as everyone, basically with nothing to do because no one was there, either kept attempting to look busy by shining the chairs or solicited our feedback on the meal. We had like seven separate people come up to us - not including our waitress - asking how the meal was.

I guess too much of some things can't make up for what is lacking
