Really nice place with nice people – Bought a spa package through living social a year ago and wanted to use it before it expired. I wanted to be mad that they had no room for my appointment until I found out that the rest of Houston waited for the last minute to book an appointment before the expiration date as well! Please remember they can not offer any appointments after the expiration according to living socials rules and not there own! The lady was so nice she took my number and called me when they had a cancellation. The massage was great and the facial was even better!! I must admit there was no wait and I gained quite a bit of knowledge regarding my skin and how to correct the huge mistakes made by bare necessities on Richmond! She even informed me of a new form of makeup that helps fight acne and gives the best coverage. I am going back again in April and taking my husband for a massage in a week! Hands Down.......it was a good experience.
terrible customer service – The same thing happened to me as the reviews below with my living social coupon. I also called numerous times and my phone calls were not returned, and then when I finally got through to someone, I was very rudely told that all the appointments were booked and that there was nothing they were going to do about it. The attitude of the customer service rep is also what upset me the most. I asked the speak with the owner and was told that she was not available to speak to me--ever.
Poor Phone Manners Makes a Poor 1st Impression – The same thing happened to me as the review below, but no offer of the 25 extension was made- i would have taken that offer. It's unfortunate that customer service was handled this way. I also have been calling for about a month now to make an appointment and I understand that all the appointments are booked, but the customer service level was what upset me. Like the previous review said it was a "too bad" attitude. The entire point of doing a daily deal like this is to increase your business. I would have just made an appointment and paid full price because according to my friends they do a good job over there, but the customer service I recieved on the phone was not helpful, friendly, or enviting. There was no I'm sorry we're booked or let me give you other options; just a to the point remark that there are no more appointments. For this reason it makes me not want to try them out. Hopefully the people that did get an appointment can write some reviews and maybe change some of our minds about this place
Terrible awful no-good very bad experience – I had purchased a living social coupon for Maxwello's Dental Spa. I had been trying to call for months to schedule an appointment and nobody would ever answer the phone. I left messages on their voicemail and never received a call back. After numerous attempts, I finally got through to somebody to schedule an appointment- but then the line got disconnected almost immediately. So again, after various attempts to call back, I finally got through to Katherine...who was awful and completely useless. She promptly told me that all appointments for the Living Social coupon were booked before the deadline, and I could extend it for $25 more dollars. I told her that I had been trying to call for months and never got a response and she said (verbatim) "So did everybody else." She then said "Nobody reads the fine print- appointments are subject to availability." Ok, I'm an attorney- I ALWAYS read the fine print, even if it's on a milk carton, but I don't interpret "subject to availability" to mean that you could be calling months ahead of a deadline and nobody responds to you or calls back. Anyway- Katherine was super rude and annoying and not helpful at all about the fact that she or her staff have been unresponsive for months and THAT was the reason I couldn't get an appt well ahead of the deadline. Her attitude was "Too bad- sucks for you, yes, we have your money but that's not my problem." Never again.
Fantastic staff and superior service!! – After a stressful morning on Wed, 07/06/11 I went in for my massage and mini micro abrasion at Maxwello Dental Spa. The appointment coordinator Katherine was so professional attentive and it was a pleasure to see the face behind the voice that made me feel like a valuable client. Frank did an excellent job with massage and was very professional. I was also extremely impressed with Vee, she really explained the micro abrasion process, helped me understand which facial products to consider and emphasized sun block ;-) I was so happy with the service that I instantly booked another appointment!!!
One of a Kind! – Two weeks ago I received a massage and facial at Maxwello Spa. The staff was very attentive and relaxing. I was immediately made comfortable in the waiting area with fruit and fresh fruit infused water. My massage was quite unique unlike any other. During my facial, the esthetician was extremely knowledgeable and know only made me feel relaxed but also gave me take home tips. I have since recommended Maxwello Spa to several friends of mine and I will definetely be a repeat customer.
Great Experience – Last week i had a massage (done by frank) and facial done by Kay. First of all the recepitionist greeted be professionally and with respect. I was excorted to the waiting area and made comfortable. Kay was also very professional, caring, patient and knowledgeable about what I was having done. I felt very warm and at home. I left felling relaxed and rejuvinated. Not only will I make a return visit, I plan to tell my friends about your office and recommend that they make their appointment with Kay so they may experience the same as myself.
Give Frank your tired, your poor, your tight muscles – Just got back from my Living Social spa package. I wasn't expecting much after reading some online reviews but I was very pleased. Whatever issues Maxwello may have had dealing with the massive number of coupons they sold seems to have been resolved. Katherine at reception greeted me warmly and offered me simple refreshments then led me into a functional waiting area to fill out the paperwork.
Kaye did my facial (and add-on eyebrow wax). She was pleasant, meticulous and skilled. The microdermabrasion offered a little more pre-treatment facial service than some other coupon places where they just wipe your face off, do the abrasion, wipe again and send you on your way.
The real star is Frank, the massage therapist. This was my third time using him (2x at another spa, didn't even know he worked here until he came to get me). A former New Orleanian displaced by Katrina, he's friendly, responsive and very, very good. Massage style is a very personal preference and male therapists can literally and figuratively rub us ladies the wrong way, but I found Frank to be adaptable to whatever I needed at the time. If he finds a tight spot, he will probe, push and pull until he's loosened it up, frequently checking to make sure he's using the right pressure. He's open to feedback during the massage so if you don't like the pressure he's using just tell him.
Ladies, if you have serious qualms about going to a guy, then just stick with a female therapist. But if you are open to a male therapist I can assure you Frank is uber-professional. It's like in his mind you're not a woman but a mechanical system that needs tuning. Each time he spent about 10-15 minutes on my bare glutes (yes, my ass cheeks) and never once did I feel weird about it.
One star off for difficulty in booking an appointment (try six weeks in advance) and the dental office ambiance.
Great experience! – I went in for a massage and microdermabrasion. The spa is beautiful, clean, and quiet. They had water, coffee, fruit, snacks, and wine in the hospitality room. My massage therapist was great! I got up from my massage stumbling because I was so weak and relaxed. The esthetician who did my microdermabrasion (I think her name was Vee..oops left her card in my car) was sooo informative and so sweet. I set up an appointment for my boyfriend on a Friday in July and she was nice enough to plan to come in to do it even though the office will be closed. Great experience, and I will definitely come back!
