STAY AWAY at all costs!! Rip Off Artists – If it was possible to rate negative stars I would. This is the single worst place I have ever been to from parking my car until getting flash light shined in my face yelling at everyone to leave.

Worst food, no taste, overpriced, terrible service.

Complete rip off artists.

These people will be out of business VERY soon. They have only lasted this long by doing underage parties, selling alcholol to minors for a jacked up price.

Parking $20 Bottle water $6 well drink $12, not even good., food was so bad and cold couldn't eat it.

Service: rude, lazy, uninformed

THIS IS LITERALLY the worst place I have ever been to with the most horrible service.

RUN RUN RUN

RUN RUN RUN away from this place.....

Poor Hospitality – I was so excited to go to the Museum Bar with my girlfriends. We were told that there was a 2 hour limit at the table, but was not informed that it would take so almost as long to get our food. When we finally got our food (correctly) we were asked to take our food to the pews and finish eating there because we exceeded our 2 hour time limit (at that time by 10 minutes). The inside is stunning, however, the parking lot is dark, the male owner is rude, the service clumsy and the food mediocre. It appears they only want to cater to celebrities. Will not return. Hope they rethink their approach...it could be a really nice place if they had a restaurant manager with experience.

Excellent Food and Service ! – Wow! such negative reviews, makes you think are you personal involved :) I am from Washington DC area and visited with my family looking at college for my twin boys in ATL. I found that the service was excellent and the food is great! I plan to come back. We had middle day lunch, dinner and than came back for Sunday Brunch! Red Velvet Pancakes ++++. Everyone has an opinion and that is fine, no matter were you go there is soul food on the menu. We were just in LA and went to a place there that had cornbread and cabbage/collards on the menu it was an upscale place it is all according to how it was fixed/served. Also parking was free, I guess we came on a good day. Too much drama! Those of you are not personal involved it is a GREAT place to enjoy music and good food!

DO NOT GO HERE - PRICE GOUGING CROOKS – I wish I could give this place negative stars. It is so bad.

This is hands down the worst establishment I have ever been to. I went there for an event last weekend and the staff was horrible... worse than horrible.

First of all they tried to charge me $10 for parking when the sign said $5.

I bought VIP tickets to the event that was held and even with a VIP wristband the bouncers.. who were overbearing and intimidating.. wouldn't let me in to the VIP area. I heard that many people had purchased these tickets and for some reason the bouncers weren't letting people sit down in the VIP area unless they bought a bottle.

So after wasting $40 on a VIP ticket I went to the bar to try to get a drink. Not only were the bartenders slow, and rude, but they charged me $12 a drink! I proceeded to go downstairs and buy the same drink and was charged $11. Throughout the night I got charged differently.. some obvious price gouging. I got sick of buying drinks and switched to water... they charged me $6 for WATER!!!

Despite all the terrible encounters with the staff I was having fun as the party was really good. Then just when things were getting really good and I was enjoying dancing with my friends, without warnig the lights slammed on and security started pushing everyone out and flashing lights in my eyes.

They were treating their patrons like a bunch of cattle. I have never experienced something so terrifying and awful. I couldn't believe what was happening.

Most places I go to have a last call and slowly close their doors, this place, as soon as they stop serving liquor they just push everyone out.

Obviously money hungry crooks without any consideration for their customers.

I WILL NEVER GO here again.. Do not go here. They gauge their prices, rip you off, treat you terrible, have horrible service, and just overall do not know how to run a club.

I plan on reporting them to the better business bureau. They need to be shut down.

Bad experience – Before eating at Museumbar, do yourself a favor and take a look at the menu. I'm really VERY tired of the stereotypical food served in african-american owned places like Museumbar. Newsflash to the owner of Museumbar: We eat things other than fried chicken and greens! Why is nearly everything on your menu fried? Why MUST you have chicken and waffles on the menu? Collards? Really? These are sunday church social foods, or soul-food restaurant foods, not things that are served at an "upscale" place to dine. Although there are better places for partying, go to Museumbar (if you must) for drinks and partying, but if you're looking for a nice dinner out, skip Museumbar and go elsewhere.

RE: This wretched so called Restaurant – I feel I had to respond to Darrell Smith, the owner's review as it is untrue and he is in an outright liar.

I was present at the LaBella Donna's birthday when Darrell Smith refused to come out and address the issue about our party of 30 not being able to be seated for dinner. He wanted to put 30 people in the pews when that was not the original plan. The original plan was to have a long table of 30 people. He did this because he learned that LaBella Donna didn't want to buy a "space" downstairs in the stinky dungeon for $500, and rightfully so. LaBella Donna indicated this at the 2nd meeting. I was present with LaBella Donna when she told Earlene that we would not be getting and "space" downstairs afterall. I guess this made Darrell want to put us in the pews as we didn't want to spend $500 in the dungeon downstairs after dinner.

It is a first that a restaurant would call a dining area "space". The "space" he was referring to is the dungeon where people party. We were to leave after dinner to go to Aurum and party.

For the record, LaBella Donna was told either to pay $250 to sit down for dinner or leave that night. I was disgusted! Museum Bar was trying to make us pay $250 to sit down and eat and this amount would not go towards our bill. One of the waitresses lied and said Darrell was gone whilst another said he was there in his office and refused to come out. So for him to say he would not turn a party of 30 away was an outright lie. We were there for dinner: nothing more and nothing less.

All we wanted was our party of 30 to eat dinner in the dining room. I have never met a more disgusting, arrogant, disrespectful individual who has the audicity to call himself a business owner in my life. Atlanta people, please read the other reviews and see for yourself what time of establishment Darrell Smith runs. It is a no brainer to figure it out. Please spare yourself and do not patronize this establishment. You have been warned! I am glad we didn't put money into this establishment and it's only a matter of time before Museum Bar goes down unless the '"Napolean Complex" owner changes his attitude. Need I say more? One last thing, Museum Bar sucks! Shame on you Darrell Smith.

Is it that serious for you to call me a Bitch? Wow... – No customer or client should ever be subjected to such blatant disrespect, rude, unprofessional and callous service from any owner of a business.

I was attempting to attend an associate?s Customer Appreciation Party in conjunction with a well known charity organization on the night of August 20th, 2011. The promotional flyer for the party stated that if you bring a canned food item with the flyer to the venue before 11pm, your admission would be waived. What we didn?t expect that evening was the Atlanta Braves traffic at 10pm from people leaving the game and streets restricting access to the bar.

We finally make it to the venue at 11:05pm and there is a line. Everyone was conversing about the difficulty of reaching the bar and wanted to inquire about whether or not the venue would still honor the flyer due to traffic circumstances being out of our control. In addition, I was considering how this would have a major impact on the attendance for the event since my associate was one of the promoters.

I proceeded to go through the security checkpoint, drop off my canned goods and asked the man at the door if someone could please find my associate. Darrell Smith (owner of the club), responded, ?I don?t know who that person is and I am the owner of the club.? I said ?Ok. The person I am asking about is one of the promoters on the flyer and I would like to speak to him.? Darrell says, ?I am the owner of the club, you don?t need to speak to anyone other than me.? I explained, ?Hey, we have been sitting in traffic for the past hour trying to access the venue, are you all waiving the fee or will we need to pay since all of the streets in the surrounding area were blocked?? Darrell says, ?Yes, you either pay the $15 or don?t come in.? I replied ?Ok.? I walked up to the cashier and gave him my money. Darrell comes next to the cashier and asks me, ?Who are you looking for again?? I told him, ?We already discussed that you are unaware of who I am asking you about, so its ok. Sir, I dropped our conversation a long time ago at the security rope when you said you didn?t know the promoter I inquired about. I am paying the fee and will just speak to my friend once I get inside. ? Darrell replies, `I told you, I am the owner and I run this around here, don?t no promoter run this.? I said, ?That?s fine you are the owner, but the promoter needs to be made aware of the situation outside.? He then starts speaking loudly, causing a major scene, saying ?GET THIS BITCH UP OUT OF HERE. SHE IS NOT WELCOME IN MY CLUB. I AM THE OWNER AROUND HERE!! The cashier repeats, ?He is the owner and I have to do as he says?. I said ?Fine, return my money and I will leave.? I questioned both the cashier and Darrell, ?Is this how you conduct business? Is this the level of ignorance we have come to now?degrading women?? I am appalled at his behavior as Darrell is yelling, ?GIVE THAT BITCH HER MONEY BACK, SHE IS NOT WELCOME IN MY CLUB! WHERE IS S

The worst customer experience in my life!!!! – Do not patronize this place!!! The service, food and drinks are horrible. Don't let the atmosphere here fool you. The owner of the bar is very unprofessional, abusive, disrepectful doesn't care about customer service and has a "Napolean Complex". He hates women and will curse you out if you make a complaint or have an issue about the restaurant/bar in front of other clients.

To make matters worse, the parking is ridiculous. It's an unsafe area and pan handlers will harass you while parking and walking to the restaurant.

Stay away from here.....you have been warned!!!!

Owner Response – As owner of Museum Bar I have thought long and hard about acknowledging the review posted by ?Labella Donna? on Yelp and other internet sites. My first thought was to ignore the review, but as time progresses it has become obvious to me that this post must be addressed. I have heard about this review, more than I would like from customers and prospective business associates. While the account is offensive to myself and business partner Earlene, it lacks essential facts that clearly explain why ?Labella Donna? and her party of 30 were not serviced on the night of her party. She is correct in stating we met 6 weeks before her scheduled party, we actually met several times concerning her party. Because of the size of her party a fee was required to rent the space she needed. I offered her a discount for several different spaces. I informed her that a deposit was required to hold the space. ?Labella Donna? DID NOT make the deposit and we could not hold the space for 30+ people with no deposit. We cannot deny space to paying customers who either walked in, made reservations or paid deposits. When ?Labella Donna? reached our venue we explained to her that she could not sit in the space she wanted to sit in and we offered her an alternate space that would allow her party to sit together, free of charge and she refused. The fact that she was unaware that she had to rent the space for a party of 30 is simply not true. She stated in her review that she met with our Event Planner on her second visit, on that visit all fees, menus etc were discussed in full detail. As a matter of fact she met with us at least 3 times and was completely aware of the deposit needed to reserve the space. In this instance there was nothing we could do to please ?Labella Donna?. She stood in our main dining room and made a complete scene. She was also rude to my staff. I was in a very important meeting that ended abruptly as I received call after call because ?Labella Donna? was in the dining room making a scene. There was no reason to ?hide in my office?, I acted with complete integrity and honesty. I even offered her a discounted rate because she had a party of 30. We ARE a black owned business with employees who have families. We would have never, ever, have turned away a party of 30 people. If we had the space to service her party that night we certainly would have, without question.

Don't waste your Money! – I went to Museum Bar this past weekend to celebrate my 25th birthday, as I had been excited to try this spot. I arrived at the restaurant for my reservation and it took them 30 minutes to seat us, while there was an open table available. Then when we finally got seated, we were informed that "oh we're now on the late night menu" at 8:45pm!! We received the late night menu and there were literally five options to choose from! Instead of having a waitress, we had a manager and it took her forever to get our orders and food. When it was time to pay she took no accountability for the horrible service and food. To put the icing on the cake, we decided to at least try the party since we were there and they tried to make us pay a cover ($5 girls and $20 for guys to come in) when we just had dinner upstairs.

Take my word and go somewhere else, there are too many good restaurants in Atlanta with excellent service. On a positive note, the venue is nice.
