Good food, nice atmosphere – Try the meatloaf, it was delicious. The waiters were very friendly and attentive, as were the valets. Not the best place ever, but a nice experience.
Eh...Okay, I guess – For such a great building and location, I wan't that impressed. The food was sort of lackluster, I got the steak and it was really chewy, the rissoto my guest had looked a little gummy and the chicken my other guest got was bland when it was supposed to be a "house favorite." And not that this really means anything and I only noticed it after our meal, but the bathroom wall paper was a little dated. On the plus side, the service was good and the bar is cool sans the multiple flat screens. They didn't really fit with the decor.
American in Every Way – This place is great - traditional Americn standards served with attention to detail and some adventurous accents. The food quality is less impressive than a fine steak house, but much more impressive than your average diner. High ceilings and historic decor make for a classy, authentic vibe, and the exuberant server was at our beck and call.
Best Comfort Food Anywhere!!!!!!! – Relaxing Atmophere with a Large Bar of Upscale Clientele.
The Food is Very good. We really enjoyed the Meatloaf and Fire House CHili.
Don't miss dessert!!
Night out in downtown this place is a nice choice – We went last night on our way to the Dorothy Chandler Music Center, wonderful pick up service that most of the downtown restaurants offer $7.00 Valet is most affordable. The decor is nice and inviting not to dark, the menu is varied I went with my teenage daughter & BF. The teen ordered the Rigatoni with Cream Sauce and Chicken *excellent, the BF ordered the Peach-Balsamic infused Pork Chop * excellent, I ordered the Crab Cakes entree *to soggy and mushy. Wine list was extensive with enough choices by the glass, good strong iced tea and accommodating and efficient busser staff.
Our food server was slow, however at anytime any one of the other servers would stop by & offer help just as quickly. The server did get my crab cakes removed & replaced with something else rather quickly + for him. Seated promptly & we made reservations.
Great Valentines Day – I took my wife here for Valentines day and it was excellent. No waiting for valet, was seated immediately and our server helped us pick a nice bottle of wine. They had a fixed menu which was a great deal. Food was delicious, romantic setting. We loved it.
Classy and affordable – For the price you would pay at Outback Steakhouse, you can be treated well in an elegant environment. Good bread, drinks and quality American food like steaks. They receive you graciously whether you're dressed down, or if you have kids with you.
Comfort Food At Its Best!!!! – Decided to visit this restaurant after reading all of the positive reviews. Man, that was some serious good food. The meatloaf was awesome, came with side of mashed potatoes and spinach. the fried chicken is also supposed to be real good.
Food OK - Service not so good – Lunch is too busy there! If you wish to get good service, go somewhere else. The servers slam down the plates onto the table and their eyes are constantly on the flow of customers coming in the door. Turn and burn! Food is OK - standard American fare that can be found in any other restaurant. Although the web site says parking is validated for lunch, what they really mean is that it'll cost you $5.50 and the parking garage only takes CASH. Such as inconvenient Downtown Los Angeles.
Nice value for downtown & great dessert – We went there as a group of 13 and sat on a private 2nd floor. The ambience was nice and the food was pretty good. The grilled asparagus appetizer was very tasty. The calamari was also well liked. We did not enjoy the appetizer crab cakes but the main dish creole/cajun crab cakes were good. I did not enjoy the gazpacho as it was too chunky and too spicy but the corn chowder was quite good. One person had the braised lamb shanks and really enjoyed the dish. The shrimp poboy is not recommended but the grillled chicken sandwich with roasted peppers was good. They have GREAT desserts. The pecan pie, and creme brulee were amazing. However, the sweet dreams drink was way over powered with too much brandy. The peach cobbler was also good.
