The Spice Table

A must-stop for your venture into Little Tokyo. Attentive service, food that I can't imagine attempting to mimic at home, and let your mouth travel across the pacific. Don't be afraid to try their specialties with a little wacky-sounding ingredients. It's well worth the adventure.

The Spice Table

Chef Bryant Ng is cooking a fusion of cuisines from Singapore, Vietnam, and Southeast Asia at the Spice Table. There's a flare to some of the dishes, like the grilled pig's tail and the jellyfish salad, while others dishes are boldly authentic (tripe satay and spicy chicken livers). The food tastes traditional, but elevated to something special. The bar serves craft beers and even offers a sampler for $10. The restaurant has a friendly warm ambience. Sit outside during warm summer nights.


The meat here is always amazing. The burger? Maybe my favorite in all of LA. But the vegetables are delicious too. I love the creamed kale, fried cauliflower and the rest of the veggie fare that's on the menu.

The creamed kale with house-made paneer and pork belly would make anyone turn vegetarian (sans pork of course!). It's a little spicy and reminiscent of a saag paneer dish from India. Amazing.

Their cheeseburger is made of shortrib and topped with American cheese, and it works! Fried cauliflower and asian sloppy joe are good, too.
