My experience at Klean was fantastic. I had gone to several other centers and could not connect to the programs there. The staff at Klean are so genuine and caring that they instill the hope and confidence that one needs for recovery. It is a beautiful facility that unlike others does not have an "institutional" feel. It feels like you are in a community and that you have personal space and privacy. They have skilled professionals that work with the patients throughout the week. The use the most modern techniques in the programs the patients participate in. There is also an amazing amount of individual care. I am still sober and I would highly recommend.
My family and friends had somewhat of an intervention for me. I didn’t want to go to treatment, though deep down inside I knew that my drinking had taken over my life and had been for the past 3 years. At the time I was a 36 year old female and on paper, highly accomplished in my career. However, I was at a point where I felt completely lost. I had moved to a new city, lost a long term relationship, accumulated debt, and on top of that, had an overwhelming sense of shame and guilt that I wasn’t exactly where I wanted to be in life. With all of this, drinking became my only escape and it became my life, and there didn’t seem to be any hope for me. I was literally hopeless.
When my family suggested Klean I was very adamant about not being an alcoholic. I did not want to go to some treatment center that just pumped Alcoholic Anonymous into my brain, I wanted therapy. I truly believed that I had a lot of issues, both psychologically and behaviorally, that needed to be tended to. I knew I was a strong, talented, driven person…I just hadn’t seen that person in a long time and I wanted to know why I was the way I was. Klean seemed like a perfect option for me because of its Dual Diagnosis program. And it turned out to be everything I hoped it would be.
I stayed at Klean for 30 days. I went in a broken mess, I came out with a renewed sense of myself. I believe this program has everything necessary for recovery, however, one has to do the work in order to get there. It is obvious, since you basically are around fellow “clients” day in and day out, who is doing the work and who isn’t. I can’t stress this enough. You either want it or you don’t. We used to say, “You can’t bullsh** a bullshi**er”. I became very close to others in treatment and having those friendships became part of my recovery, having people with balls enough to call me out on my sh**. The therapy, both group and one-on-one, is top notch. I thought I would hate the group therapy, didn’t think it would actually be beneficial, but it actually turned out to be just as helpful to me as individual therapy if not more so. The therapists are AMAZING at what they do. They are highly knowledgeable within their field and really push everyone to dig deep. Each therapist has a different approach in getting to the nitty gritty, so there is always going to be a path that you identify with.
I will leave it at this. I loved this place. I would recommend it to anyone. It is what you make of it. I made it a place of renewal and awakening, and that’s exactly what I got out of it. I know some of the friends I made that were clients had been to multiple rehab facilities before ending up at Klean. They said that Klean was the best one they had ever been to. From the stories I’ve heard, I count my lucky stars that Klean was the treatment center my brother found for me.
I hope this helps at least one person out there. I am so thankful for my life now. I am still on the journey I started at Klean, and it’s so much better than I ever imagined it to be. I’m not a new “me”, I’m the “me” I always knew was in there.
I brought a friend to KLEAN in a horrible time of need believing in good faith they were a legitimate facility. It's a beautiful place, in fact it seemed too good be true. As it turns out, it WAS too good to be true.
KLEAN has a published rate that ends up being, when all is said and done, just under $2500 a DAY (including catered meals, meds, etc.). This is far beyond what most insurance companies will pay, but that's the whole point. Klean pretends to be "high end" to appeal to a wealthy client base. If you're rich and stupid, then you'll pay for whatever your insurance doesn't cover. If you're NOT and they have a spot open they'll take you anyway and bill your insurance company the policy maximum and "waive" the difference. So basically, they LIE to the insurance company about their rates and tell them you're paying a deductible and co-pay that you're really not.
So what do you actually GET? My addict friend says they pump you full of more drugs than any other detox facility he's been to, and the "treatment program" is primarily the otherwise FREE meetings provided by AA and NA down the street.
If you love someone with an addiction... despite all the glossy pictures this is NOT the place to go.
It might sound cliche – I wish I could have done it without help, but the truth is I tried several times to get clean and couldn't make it work. So at the risk of being cliche, I couldn't have done it without Klean. They made me feel safe, which is hard to do when I was coming down, and I felt sheltered there. I could really tell the staff actually cared and weren't just there for a paycheck. They've all been through tthe same struggle of trying and failing, cleaning up and falling off the wagon, so they could sympathize. I'm not saying they treated me like a princess, cuz they didn't, but they were cool. They cut me slack when they could see I needed it, but they didn't let me slack when I needed to get through something either. So it's a good balance. I've never tried any other place like this, but I can say I wholly recommend going here if you need help getting off of drugs.
Legit – This place is legit. They're not pretentious or fake, they really want to help. My sister sent me here for a month last year and I'm really glad I let her. Nobody WANTS to go, but if you're gonna go, go someplace real where they actually help and don't just take your money. If you need to chill out for minute and get it together, go here. They care.
Treatment Testimonial for KLEAN – "Being a busy surgeon most of my life, I have never had time to consider other aspects of my being. Then I needed treatment, and I was very lucky to have found Klean.
Soon my treatment turned to education. I learned so much about myself that I never knew. Due to the excellent group of doctors, clinical staff and techs, I was surrounded by opportunities to learn at all times during my education. All of these people are caring, empathetic, brilliant, and sharing. Many have been down the same path previously and are now in wonderful tune with their lives and spirituality. Thus they are helpful in having us come to the same desired place in our lives.
So I highly recommend Klean. You will learn, grow, love, laugh and understand yourself more than you can imagine. You will also have a tear or two go down your cheek as well. Yet, you will consider this to be a wonderful experience."
