I have had the absolute WORST customer service experience with the company Just Fitness 4 U and their owners National Fitness. The gym itself is OK but if you ever want to quit they make it unbelievably difficult to do so.
First off, I signed a 2 year contract and 1 year into it I moved and began using the Marietta location. I got to a point where I didn't want to work out at all anymore and decided to cancel my contract early. When I went to the Marietta location to cancel they told me that I had to go to my originating gym in which to do so.
I drove to the original gym only to find it had moved. I tried to find the new location but it wasn't accurate to the GPS so I gave up. I called the Marietta location back and spoke with one of the managers. He assured me that due to the fact that I was super stressed out about the ordeal that if I would come in and make 1 final monthly payment that he would personally fax over a copy of my signature to the Roswell gym and the nightmare would be over.
I went in and made my final payment but the receptionist told me that the manager I had spoken to only an hour ago had stepped out and was not there. She assured me that she knew of the circumstances as she was privy to the conversation we had. She took my payment, assured me it was final and that they would cancel my membership.
1 month later I get a charge on my credit card for another monthly fee. When I called Marietta and re-hashed the promises they made me they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. I was told that I would need to come back into the gym and cancel in person. I drove to the Marietta gym and went through the whole scenario AGAIN only to be told that they don't accept cancellations on weekends AND that I needed to go to the Roswell gym.
I finally had enough, left work early that following Monday, found the incredibly still hard to find new location, went inside and officially cancelled my membership. Here is is 30 days later and I receive an email from National Fitness saying that I owe another $35.00 to them because the contract states that I have to pay 30 days before cancelling. The Roswell location NEVER mentioned it to me when I signed the cancellation paperwork...EVEN THOUGH I asked them point blank if there would be any additional charges after that day.
This company makes it very difficult to deal with on every single issue you have. I even called National Fitness directly to tell them that I was not informed of my pending 30 day payment and the VERY rude account manager who answered my call told me that I needed to read my contract.
Do not get involved with this gym or chain...you will regret it!
Marietta Center – I go the the Roswell Rd Center and i love it. i was shown which machines I need to use for my purposes on my very first visit. I did ok on my own but decided to get a trainer and am I glad I did! It's not that expenseive and I leaave there feeling good about my workout. My trainer is Megan and she gently but firmly makes me continue when i want to give up which is what i need. She is very knowlegeable about training and diet and works with me in evey way. I love the place. I recommended it to several of my friends and will continue to do so.
Unethical liars but good euip – Imagine buying a pretty good car from the sleaziest, most dishonest, unethical, amoral, untrustworthy, used-car salesman and that's what this is. As long as you know what equipment you want, realize any promises of any sort are lies, and do the month to month, overall, the gym is indeed "sorta good." To me, I love the quipment and I don't need the flunkies who work there for "service" anyway - except to clean the toilets and defumigate the lockers; maybe pickup the weights off the floor and straighten out before I get there.
Just A Bunch Of Liars – Just Fitness are a bunch of LIARS. Everywhere you go you see "Just $10 a month" "Always Just $10" Etc... I get a flyer in the mail that says not only "Always Just $10 A Month" but that I'm a "Grand Prize Winner" and I've won "Free 2 years enrollment" When I get there they of course try haggling with me, that they'll give me free enrollment, but I have to pay a $50 adjustment fee and $20 a month...I'm sorry, that's not a deal. There is no fine print on the flyer for the scratch off...it only says "$10 a month" and "free 2 years of enrollment" it does not state which package this works for. Now they're giving me a hard time, being rude, and act like they're doing you a favor by lying to you. I hate this place, their manager Phillip is extremely rude and intimidating...if he tries to haggle with you, just walk out.
I love this gym. I left La Fitness because I felt like I was overpaying them. I was paying $35 a month and not using everything they had to offer. Every time you go there, you have to wait on someone to get off the equipment. Just Fitness 4u, you don't have to worry about that. When you go in, you can get your workout on and go home. I pay 10 bucks a month and have everything but the classes and pool which is fine. I thought about it not to long ago and was like I was loosing a lot of money. An annual membership at this other gyms cost about $420 (including the initial fee) but then I go here and pay $170 (including the annual fee of $50). That's $250 I am saving. If I was you all I would switch and start going here. I know a few more gyms has open in Alpharetta, Laweranceville,Georgia)
