very positive experience at haynes – i shopped at several large stores in va beach (value city, grand, lazyboy) and a couple small hole-in-the-walls too. i shopped around so much because i was looking to purchase 3 rooms of furniture and wanted to be sure to get the best deal. anyway, i had the worst shopping experience ever at value city - rude dishonest salespeople. plus, the quality of the furniture was cheap to say the least. that's why on signed onto this site - to state my horrible experience at value city. back to my furniture shopping... grand had decent quality furniture but higher prices than haynes and i think haynes furniture was a little better quality. lazyboy was just plain expensive when compared to the competition. so, i'm here to say i had a positive experience at haynes. i bought an italian leather sofa and loveseat for $1550 (compared to $2000 for the closest comparable set at grand), a counter height kitchen table and chairs for $600 (couldn't find a counter height table i liked at the other stores to compare to), and a sleigh bedroom for $1300 (compared to $1700 at value city for a bedroom that looked similar but wasn't constructed well or compared to $1900 for a comparable bedroom from grand). oh, and i got a good finance deal at haynes - not sure what the other stores offered on the finance side b/c i didn't get that far with them
The worst company ever!!! – I have never rated a company like this before but I had such a horrible experience with Haynes and wanted to let others know. I would never in a million year recommend this company! We spent a lot of money here and were treated very badly. The sales person got our order wrong, and failed to follow up when she said she would. We then called her and she was very rude to us and acted like we were just a hindrance to her. We finally went down to the store and talked with the store manager, who I must say was not much better. He just wanted to get us in and out. Needless to say we received our order in full, a month after we ordered it, when it was supposed to only take a week. Haynes prices might be cheap, but so is their service. The whole experience has been very frustrating! If you want to buy furniture without the headache this is definitely NOT the place. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!
Absolutely the Worst business around – The items were never even ordered, despite three separate people confirming different arrival dates of a kitchen table and 4 chairs. They had no problem taking my money out that very day, but over two months later and still nothing - no phone calls, no letters, no cancellation notice/refund on my credit card. Everyone I spoke with was extremely unprofessional, disorganized, and clearly grasping at straws for every question I gave them. This place is an absolute rip off, and though the quality of furnishings might have proven to be worth some hassle, it's certainly not acceptable to treat customers this way and to never deliver on promises. There were 5 missed phone appointments from two different people, and they have absolutely no accountability because their phone system is designed to loop you around indefinitely. In all likelihood, they may be betting on the idea that you'll forget that you even ordered something, and that you might just let them keep your money. I will never shop here again, and neither will any of my 2,300 co-workers.
Shut this business down for good - it is a sham.
UPDATE: In order to send my refund, they requested my SECURITY CODE from the back of my VISA, and when I refused, they called twenty minutes later to say that they didn't need it. They don't call when you are paying them good money for their products, but they seem to finally get on the ball when you want your money back. Damage control, I expect.
a message to future and past customers of haynes – Hello, I recently started at Haynes. I decided to research what customers think of Haynes. I was shocked to see that there are so many negative reviews. I just want to let you all know that when you walk through that front door you are the highest priority. I am there to make a living and when you purchase furniture thats how we get a paycheck. I cant believe that a few of you walked around and couldnt get help. That makes me sick to my stomach. I know Haynes is very large and does a lot of business. Sometimes some things happen where it might upset a customer. I will do any and everything to make your experience a pleasant one. That is my promise to you and to my employer. I hope that all these reviews dont steer you away from Haynes. You could purchase your furniture from any store but I hope you at least give us a try.

Price swapping – Beware , price marked may not be price on product , sales are misleading, and not everything in store has price tags. Sales people are rude. When attempting to find a section of furniture I was greeted with " JUST LOOKING I SUPPOSE" very rudly. Will not shop at this storee
Scratched my car – Prices may be cheap but when I went to pick up my order the loaders tied up my purchase to my vehicle. He said it was ok so I believed him. I didn't even make the turn out of the Haynes parking lot and my purchase almost fell off my vehicle and the rope they used wrapped under my wheel and scratched my car. Then the store claimed no liability and were rude to me when I inquired.
I will never buy anything from Haynes again.
