Tips for Gold Bar Restaurant & Lounge

Post-Hike or Kayak BLISS!.
After 2 amazing meals here way back when, the Gold Bar Restaurant and Lounge (attached to the GB Motel) established itself as a necessary part of any hiking, kayaking, or winter sports plan I make for the Alpine Lakes Wilderness/Stevens Pass area.
Beers are cold and very cheap. The food is American home cooking-style and very well prepared. I love their Reuben sandwich, burgers, fries, etc. The chicken fried steak is terrific--they've got all the classics and I get overwhelmed trying to decide between them.
The servers are really friendly and expert in their work. It is a real pleasure to eat here, and the prices are great. I have planned hikes off of Route 2 because I want to stop back in here. I leave feeling satisfied and happy every time.
Highly recommended if you like non-franchise home cooking served in a comfortable diner-like setting.
