Good Pizza, Good Service & Good Price – I sat at the bar and I took advantage of the 50% off special so the food was relatively cheap. The brick oven adds a nice touch and the pizza is light, airy and crisp. The drinks are stiff and the waitstaff was polite. I would go again.
Fancy pies on the Upper West Side. – The dough is charred evenly thanks to a custom, rotating brick oven at this uptown pizzeria.
Drink sake and beer but not any cocktails........ – Are those 5 stars really from customers?? not whoever work there??? I had worst drinks ever in my entire life......... Mojito didn't taste like one. Mint was brown not green. Yeah it 's 3 bucks but it's like chewing those "mojito gum".
I could taste SOUR MIX in any other their cocktails. Food ok. I may go back to eat with beer and sake cause their price was pretty easy on me. Don't expect much from drinks and service. Otherwise it's ok.
ugh – don't go! had a reservation, no table was available. waiter tried to memorize a 10-item order with drinks instead of writing it down, 3 plates did not come. drinks sat empty with no offer of refills. some guy with dirty hands grabbed my waterglass and left something on my glass that looked like mayo... another guy came from behind the bar (manager?) to stare at our dish and asked "what is that"?
when it finally came, the steak frites roll was very nice as was the king crab coquette. if they could just up their service, clean the premises, put better music on than just the entire John Mayer CD, ,put a restaurant shirt on the guy who comes around to fill water, and other things along these lines, they might become known as more than a local stopoff for CU students.
Worst Service Ever – This place has the worst service I have ever experienced. The only things prompt about this meal was our bill. First, we had to wait on a seat, even though we had reservations. We were given a table cramped for 5 people. Although this is a tapas bar, non of these small plates arrived in good time. We waited 30 minutes before anything came. Also, the waiters didn't even take drink orders. When they brought food out, they would forget to give spoons with soup, wasabi and soy sauce with sushi, napkins with anything etc. Horrendous service and the waiters had a non-chalant attitude. Unless you have 3 hours to dedicate for dinner, do not come here. The food does not even come close to making up for the subpar service.
Great service and menu – This is great for sushi and tapas, the wait staff is beyond nice. Not as cheap as it looks though as the plates are small and you will have to order a lot to be full.
Couldn't get food ! – I ordered Sashimi delax at 6:40pm and after one hour still I haven't got deliver!! So I called them . They said that maybe delivery person got lost and he asked me my address again. After 30min ,still delivery person haven't show up...I called again and they said they thought I canceled order. So I said please change to person who took my order( I ordered Japanese staff) but he said she is really busy so she will call me back. However nobody called me back. I was so hungry. I will never order again.
Delivery person never showed up! – My husband and I ordered delivery from Tokyo Pop earlier this evening. After more than an hour our food still hadn't arrived. When my husband called to check the status, the manager assured him that it would be here within 5 minutes.
After another 35 minutes with no delivery I called back. This time, however, the manager told me apologetically that the delivery person couldn't find our place (because a 28 story building on the corner of Riverside and a numbered street is really difficult to spot, i guess). No phone call, no food, just really poor service from an incompetent restaurateur. Perhaps the food is good -- we'll never know. But I'd steer clear of Tokyo Pop for delivery.
Editorial Review – Despite its Upper West Side digs, a young, downtown vibe prevails at this fusion restaurant, where a menu of innovative dishes combines Japanese simplicity with French flair.
It's a winner!!!!!!!!!! – I went there on Saturday with my fiance and we were very surprised by the quality of the food and by the way the staff took care of us. The sushi are really innovative and the meals are very well presented. I really recommend this place. When we went there, it was a steak night and we payed 12.95 each. It's really the best deal because many sushi places charge you twice this price for disappointing food. We'll keep this address preciously!
