Enjoyable X'mas eve dinner – We had our X'mas eve dinner in the VIP area. The food was very good and also a great value for $30/person when lobster was on our table with a fabulous view of Lake Union. There was another 300 persons X'mas party going on upstair. The owner (Mr. Sun) was very accommodating when we had to change our reservation from 50 persons to 44 persons. China Harbor provided 4 tables to seat 11 persons at each table. China Harbor had been the only restaurant that we used for holiday dinner since this restaurant opened in 1994.
A GREAT MEAL – It was the perfect Saturday evening in Seattle, we had a great window seat for the 4 of us. Our waitress was absolutely fabulous. We could not have asked for a better table of course it was a sunny evening with boats on the water, our great waitress, she added so much fun to our meal, and wonderful food, we will add the China Harbor to our list of Great Eats on Lake Union!!!!
The food is so delicious – I like to come here with my husband, the food is so delicious, I can never get enough. Egg rolls, fried rice to name a couple of my favorites!
Disappointed – We went there for my son's birthday and I really wanted him to experience real, good Chinese food. Well, the food isn't too bad but the disappointing part was that they departed from the traditional way Peking duck should be served. That was what we went there for, specifically. Instead of using crepes with the duck skin in it, they served it with buns that should be used for a pork dish. The appetizers were disappointing too. The other dish were good but nothing to write home about. Would I go there again? Maybe if I'm in the neighborhood and don't have any place better.
Great date place, celebrations with friends – I asked several people I met in Seattle where I should go for ambiance, good food, and a full bar, as well as my hotel concierge, and did some online research before heading to China Harbor with a date. Not only did it have great ambiance, GREAT food, and a full bar, but also it had one of THE best restaurant views in the city of the waterfront. Throw in the fact that this place didn't cost me an arm and a leg - and it was the best date spot possible.
I would say this restaurant is a great venue for first dates, anniversaries, celebrations, because the mix of quality, cost, and clientele is enough to impress the most cynical of people.
Go with the Family style "Emperor's Dinner" or order individually and get, at least, General Tso's Chicken. And my final note - $6 cocktails, and $4 beers. Good luck finding a nice restaurant like this that has drink prices like that!
Great place to dine and enjoy the view – China Harbor has terrific food, wonderful atmosphere and very attentive staff. I have been patronizing China Harbor for many years and I always enjoy their authentic and flavorful food. I also am very appreciative of their friendly and efficient staff. China Harbor's facilities are perfect to handle intimate dinners to very large parties and gatherings with a great view of Lake Union. It's definitely a Must Visit.
Best Lunch Time Menu – I am writing this post to rave about the best Chinese restaurant in South Lake Union. China Harbor has many positives, the staff are always welcoming friendly and courteous. The food is excellent … Great scenery… Since my lunch hour is exactly 60 mins. Getting my food and out the door in a timely manner is very important. In this area they are second to none; the entrée is usually at my table just as I am finishing up the appetizer, In terms of pricing? You can get out the door for under $10. With a wide variety on the lunch time menu, I would recommend China Harbor to anyone who is looking for an excellent place to eat at lunchtime…
a wonderful dining experience and beautiful views – attended a new year's party here tonight...and the place is simply amazing. the interior decor coupled with the delicious food and amazing views make this one of the best places to go for chinese food in seattle. i ordered the general tso's chicken, beef tendon, and the jelly fish to go...they're both exquisite. would highly recommend this place for the warm ambience and the yummy food! i will be sure to return to china harbor for all my chinese food cravings for take out and for dining in.
Yummy lobster at China Harbor – Just the other day, I ordered a special order of lobster from china harbor, and I was completely satisfied. Unlike other restaurants, who seem to leave out parts of seafood or duck or whatever, I got a lot of lobster. It was absolutely delicious, too :) It is made with a chinese style ginger and scallion sauce, and once you eat one peice, it makes you want to eat more and more, and the flavor lingers in your mouth after you are finished. The lobster meat was whole and tender, too, filling the shell, and not like those skimpy, tough, and tasteless versions of lobster from american or other chinese restaurants :) I have also been to the restaurant many times; my daughter, who is now almost 15, went to China harbor for her 1 month old birthday celebration, and has been going there over the years. Recently we were there for an "after christmas dinner" on the 26th, and it was very good :) I am a picky chinese eater, but i would recommend China harbor to you, especially the seafood (love the lobster!)
Touring Senic Union Bay - a restaurant you shouldn't miss – I'm a tourist from East coast and staying in a hotel in downtown Seattle. Yesterday I passed by Union Bay and found this huge black gem like building by the water that attracted me accessing the entrance of the splendid Chinese restaurant. I was really tired and hungry when a well dressed waiter led me to a seat by window. Speechless, the spectacular view thru window's glass aroused my appetite at once and freshed my thoughts thoroughly. I tasted both Szechuan and Cantonese styles dishes, and freshness of their seafood let me amazed a lot! Finally, I was billed for under $25.
