Best italian restaurant in O.C. I happened to be there on Sat. 6/02/08 for lunch with my 4 yr. old daughter and unfortunately across from Vadebergh with her child and husband and also another couple with their children. That women should really control her son, he was obnoxious, playing with all the silverware and clanking plates, and used the booster seat like it was a go cart all around the restaurant with his mother running in back of him in a very busy restaurant. She tried getting the seat away from him and actually went into the kitchen with it , then proceeded to place it on the floor behind the bar when the owner approached her and told her it could not be there because it would be a hazard to her workers, she abruptly and loundly called the owner a"B"for all to hear, then proceeded to tell her husband not to leave a Tip. The server after they left ,said the service couldn't have been bad due to the fact that her HUSBAND left a 25% tip. LOL ! I guess you have to put up all different characters when you own a business!!

I can tell you that my daughter and my experienceat CIAO was outstanding, we will definitely be back, and I also will tell everyone I know what great people, service, and italian food CIAO has!!!!!

Worst Experience Ever – The owners are the RUDEST I have ever encountered. If you have children under 5, don't even attempt to dine here, b/c in the (verbatim)words of Anthony, the owner, "Honey, you aren't wanted back here." I don't know about anyone else who has a 2 yr. old, but certainly, "terrible twos" wasn't invented by my son. The scenario: after spending a long (and much well-behaved lunch) with my 2 y.o and two other 3.yo's (and 4 adults & a baby), my 2 yr. old son became obsessed with the (ONLY) booster seat they brought out for all of them. While we were paying, I asked JoAnn (owner) to take it away so he would quit playing with it and she put it on a chair right next to us. I tried to move it out of his sight, asking her to, and she told me nastily, "I will IN A MINUTE...if you can't control your son, then you shouldn't be in here." I couldn't believe it and went to her husband telling him his wife provided the RUDEST encounter I had ever had in a restaurant and that I wouldn't be back and that is when I got the "honey" comment. It was quite a scene with the woman owner (JoAnn) using the "B" word out loud and directed at me at least five times, all in the witness of the entire restaurant (and others looking on, trying to accommodate me using the restroom before we leave, with one woman leaning over saying, "I have had 5 of them (children)" in a sympathetic tone, after obviously watching the awful spectacle with the owners.)

I don't know about you, but I am a consultant and for me, regardless of a situation, the customer is ALWAYS RIGHT and I am trained to swallow my words. When I don't receive the same respect in a restaurant of all places, for a two year old's behavior, well, it goes without saying that a place like this should put out a sign: "NO CHILDREN ALLOWED" (and shouldn't be in business to deal with the public, frankly.) Needless to say, I would never recommend this place to anyone, and especially not for "honeys" or "B's" with children.
