Yesterday was my second time going in there,and it was the worst customer service both time that i went in. I went in with 2 of my friends, we are have the same opinion. No one offer us anything to drink, while everyone else had wine and soft drink. The staff there were not happy to help us. I will NEVER go back there.

What a great experience! I walked in the door knowing nothing about diamonds. Not only was I offered a mini diamond lesson, but I also felt so catered to by the whole experience. The selection was incredible in comparison to other stores we shopped and they have a great warranty that made me feel so much better shopping at an independent store vs a chain.

Horrific – I was lied to about diamond quality, size, and color. No direct answers to questions, and no true customer concern. This is the WORST place to go for the big decision of an engagement ring or diamonds.

Worst Experience Ever! – .Going to Diamonds Direct was the worst decision me & my fiancé ever made. Once we picked out the stone & setting, everything else was a complete nightmare! And while you read this, keep in mind that we are talking about a 2+ carat diamond. If you think you are getting a good value, think again. You definitely get what you pay for.

They never explained that EGL certified stones are two color grades less than GIA stones. For example, the EGL certified stone with a F color is really equivalent to a GIA certified stone rated H. We wanted a certain color grade and when we were showed the diamond with that grade, I questioned the 'yellowish tint' in the diamond. They responded by telling me you would never notice once it is set and never mentioned the difference in GIA certified diamonds versus EGL certified diamonds. We were never told that it was an EGL diamond until we received the appraisal.

The customer service was horrible. Our ring was promised by a certain date but did not arrive. When we did finally receive the ring, the diamonds on the setting did not match the center stone. We were told beforehand that they would match the diamonds in the setting to the center stone but it was never done.

They did not give us the EGL certification when we picked up the ring and were given the appraisal; we were told the certificate would be mailed from the Charlotte office. A month later we still had not received it and Charlotte said they never had it to begin with.....and it all went downhill from there. We decided to go back and express our frustration regarding all the issues we had, i.e. the side stones not matching, never being told it was an EGL diamond, never receiving the certification after 5 weeks, etc.

They said they wanted us to be happy so they replaced the EGL stone with a GIA stone that had the same color grade. First, the replacement stone didn't fit in the setting since it was built for the original stone. They told us the new stone was more valuable since it was GIA certified, but when we received the appraisal, it was the same amount as the original EGL stone. First, they told my fiancé they didn't increase it because it would just make his insurance on it go up. When I called to question this, I was told it didn't increase because they were the same size, grade, etc except the replacement was a GIA so it wouldn’t change the appraisal amount. Just the night before we were told, by this same person and another employee, how much more valuable this replacement GIA stone was. When I brought this up and reminded them of what they just told us twelve hours earlier, they then changed their story and said they didn't change the appraisal on this stone because it was correct but that the original appraisal was wrong and that is really should have been six thousand dollars less. So first they said it was due to insurance, and then they said it was because it was the same value, and then they said they made a mistake on the first appraisal...all within a twenty minute conversation.

Needless to say, we will NEVER do business with them again!! It truly was the worst experience I could ever imagine. I would advise anyone to not only walk away from their "good value" but run as fast as you can. I don't want this to ever happen to anyone else, it was truly heartbreaking.

diamonds direct, birmingham, al – I had the BEST experience! Everyone-and I do mean everyone was nice. Not only 'nice', but enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Lots of places have diamonds-Diamonds Direct has great people!

Worst Customer Service EVER! – You might pay a little more by going somewhere else, but I can tell you, it is well worth the money. Dealing with the staff at Diamonds Direct has been an absolute nightmare. I took my engagement ring to be re-sized on a Tuesday and they promised me it would be ready by that Friday. When I called, they said that they had shipped the ring to Charlotte to be re-sized and it would not be back until the following week. When I went back the following week, it had not been touched - IT WAS STILL THE ORIGINAL SIZE. After I spoke with the owner, he had it re-sized that day. When I got home 3 hours after putting the ring back on, a diamond was missing out of the band. I called the owner, he said it could be fixed immediately the following day. When I returned the the store, no one was aware of the situation and staff members tried to tell me I would have to wait several days to have the ring fixed. When I protested, they finally got it done in one afternoon. 1 month later - the same diamond is missing out of the ring. I returned to explain the situation to yet a different staff member. I was told that a new ring would be ordered in my size and would be delivered in 6 weeks. I was also given 1 specific staff member that they told me would handle this situation directly so I would not have to keep explaining myself. It has now been 71/2 weeks. I was assured by "my" staff member that the ring would be in this week. I called today, and "my" staff member is no longer with them. I am dealing with yet another person who is extremely rude. I had to get the owner on the phone for them to get me same day service in order to get my diamond put into the new setting. They are terrible! Liked: Disliked:

Mary, Bierco, and Amit.... – Mary, Bierco, and Amit at Daimonds Direct in Birmingham were the most helpful, informative, comforting and personable people I have ever delt with. I'm in beverage sales myself so I have seen quite a few company representatives in action. I didn't get any feeling of pressure during my experience making the most important purchase of my life (engagement ring). I own a home, real estate agents fell short. I purchased a new car in December, car salesman fell short. I highly recomend anyone in the market for luxury jewlery you should visit them without a doubt.
