It's all here :-) – Even if you're a meat-eater you'll find the vegetarian food here very satisfying. A big plus is that they have so many choices you don't end up with a sedating pile of rice. It's buffet style all you can eat here with loads of good and eye-opening choices. The staff are wonderful and the food's even extremely reasonable, bordering on cheap.

The nut loaf (think meat loaf) is delish and what I always look for.

There's a temple next door if you care to visit. Also, upstairs is a wonderful book and gift shop with all things Iskon/Hindu. You can even buy some of their cookbooks to make the stuff from the restaurant at home. A trip here is time well-spent!

Tasty! – I love the food here. And the price can't be beat. Its served buffet style, so you get to choose how much of what you want. As a vegetarian, I am so happy when I go here.

Very best vegetarian/vegan food – i been going to Govindas for sometime (not as much i want) but everytime i go is a greater satisfacion for me. i go specialy in weekdays for a work reason and the food is excelent, rich in flavor and good in looking, the dhal is the best in town, vegetables and halava.

you have to try the vegan pies (choco, lemon, carob, banana) is the closer you can get to heaven, i meet the chef and just by talking you understand he knows what their doing, he has some degree in natural health.

i hightly recoment Govindas for taste and price

Delicious, Good Karma Restaurant! – I highly recommend this restaurant. Not only to vegetarians but also to the meat eaters.. just to prove that vegetarian food is not bland and that there IS a veriety of vegetarian food to eat. I have been a vegetarian for several years and I love this place, they offer a great variety of vegetarian friendly items. Even some vegan dishes. This restaurant is generally Indian-inspired, but I think they really tone it down on the spices compared to other Indian restaurants.

The staff is absolutely polite! What can you expect from Hare Krishnas?? ;) The food is delicious and inexpensive! $6 for all you can eat buffet and like $2 for a pizza slice. You can also visit the gift shop upstairs where you'll find a great selection of imports from India. Including clothing, Hare Krishna literature, incense, accesories, beads and much more! Next door you will find the ISKCON temple. Definately a must if you are in the area. An interesting experience!

Excellent Indian and Fusion Vegetarian food – Yes this delicious food is as Indian as it gets and there is also a good variety of Western style food available. I am Indian non-vegetarian and after eating here I almost want to give up on my carnivorous habits. Another great thing about eating here instead of a run-of-the-mill Indian restaurant is that I did not feel heavy and sedated later (this is due to excessive amonts of cream/spices/oil/sodium bicarbonate that is present in usual Indian/Pakistani restaurant food) and there was no need for anti-acid medication either.

Bhima Burgers!! – I've been here many many times and am in love with their $3.50 Bhima burgers! They're very flavorful and their organic green mayonaise is terrific! I ask for them to be made without ketchup and mustard as it's just a bit much for me. But the lentil patty, sprouts, and buns (make sure to ask if they have their homemade buns instead of slices of toast!) make it all worth the walk. The staff is VERY friendly and they accept credit cards, even for such a small charge. A friend of mine recently went there and told me they raised the price to $4.50. But hey, for a transendental vegetarian lunch, this is pretty much the best you can get.

A great Combination of East and West – The vegan Pies are out of this world. The vegetarian nut loaf every Saturday night is what drives me there each week. Great Salad bar! There is also a museum, the Bhagavad Gita Museum, which takes about 45 minutes to go through but is an awesome multimedia experience. My favorire is the mix of clientele, from traditional Hindus to the executives from Sony Studios and the medical group from Brotman Memorial, and the Beverly Hills' new agers. It's a well rounded experience you are sure to get hooked on. I did, at least weekly. :-) Oh, and there is a gift shop.

Hello this isn't Indian food – Are you kidding me? This is psedo-Indian food cooked by a bunch of hippies! I'm Indian and vegetarian so I was psyched to try it out. But the food is so-so at best and I can't remember the last time I saw alfalfa sprouts at an Indian meal. However the food is really cheap, so if you want a really cheap lunch, its great. But as far as getting good Indian food, its not going to happen.

MUST TRY – This is quickly becoming one my favorite "value" restaurants. The food is SO delicious, fresh, and cheap. You can choose between the buffet ($6, students $5), food by weight (never got it because I NEED the buffet), or sandwiches from the sandwich bar (never had it bc I can't resist the buffet). the buffet offers a fresh salad bar with the usual fare like lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, olives, sprouts, sunflower seeds, cucumbers, kidney beans, garbonzo beans, beets, and more, with THE most delicious dressings. I had spicy peanut recently, but also have loved their tahini dressing and sweet basil. then they usually have some kind of pasta or lasagna (strange, i know, but always tasty), brown and basmati rice, with different vegetable dishes, a soup, dessert, and various mixed salads like couscous salads and potato salads. if you appreciate healthy cheap vegetarian and vegan food, you need to try govindas.
