TERRIBLE – Here is the letter I wrote yesterday to the Wine Loft...I have not heard back from them , but they did removed a charge from my credit card..THE WRONG CHARGE..the cheaper charge. My bill should be $64 and they are charging me $119...I have sent other emails and made several calls and they are not doing a thing. here's the letter:We came to the Wine Loft on Saturday night around 6pm and was seated upstairs, and there were four of us. You were not busy at all and we thought this to be a nice atmosphere when we first got there. I don't remember our servers name, but she was somewhat detached, but we dealt with this. Our friends had a Groupon and we asked from the beginning that even though the Groupon was for only the two of them, that we would split the entire bill in half. During the course of the evening, your place still not that busy, the server was not on top of things as we'd have liked her to be, but we are patient and nice people, so we did deal with this. We ordered the shrimp scampi(and had ordered several other things before that) and we asked her if she'd bring us a plate of bread. We were well finished with our scampi when she came back and said "I rang in your bread but forgot to bring it". We said "we don't need the bread anymore...that's ok". We all noticed that she was not very engaging...but went on with our evening. When it was time for the bill, we told her again to divide it evenly, which she did not. She came back and ours was like $120 and our friends bill was $42...we told her that this was wrong, and she apologized and came back with two more bills...this time they were both exactly the same amout of $119 each. We were getting a bit agitated at this point, but not rude and told her it was wrong again. I kiddingly, but seriously said "while we wait, maybe you could bring us a glass of wine on the house"...she ignored that and got the manager to come up. The manager was having a hard time understanding what happened and they blamed it on the computer and us having the Groupon. The manager then went over the itemized bill...line by line and by this time we were in the Loft 20 minutes more than we expected to be. The manager was not concerned about us as customers, but the Loft. I kiddingly, but seriously said again "it would be nice if we got a glass of wine on the house"....she just said "I apologize for the trouble". I think as a customer, and also as a customer service person myself, that at that time I would have seriously tried to make this experience as easy as possible, but again, she was not concerned about our time or our happiness...only the loft. It is not about the "free glass of wine" at all...it was about all of the mistakes and being held "hostage" there (as my husband referred to it) and them not really caring. I did tell the manager as we walked out that we would not recommend the Wine Loft and we would not be back. She had a surprise look on her face and still did not understand that this was the poorest customer service that we had ever experienced. Now I have looked at my bank account and we have two charges on our account. I need a call back to assure me that we will only being charged once and that the other charge will be removed. I am not happy on this Monday morning that I am still being held hostage by the Wine Loft. Please call me ASAP.
Pleasantly Surprised – I recently purchased a groupon and only after purchasing did I check the reviews. Most were negative and so naturally I was nervous about whether I wasted my money or not. I was pleasantly surprised to know that I hadn't. The four wines we sampled were generous pours (more than the 3 oz. they said we'd get), the food was delicious (we had the cheese platter and tiramisu), the service was awesome. We were walked straight to our reserved table, were greeted by a cheerful waitress who was very prompt and quick to serve us, and enjoyed our wine and food while listening to some rockin' jazz music. If you've had your reservations about this place, I'd definitely say to try it again. They say their under new management and their new owners mean business...good business.

surprised( in a good way) – Based on the reviews ive read i was dreading going into the wine loft to meet a friend. But as soon as i actually walked in for the first time i felt comfortable. The lighting was low and the band, although a little contemporary for me, was live. My friend was already at the bar when i got there and was chatting up the male bartender. For how young he was on top of his wine knowledge and made a great suggestion. Good service, good wine, pleasant surprise.
DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!! – I will not be going back to Wine Loft, especially after the horrible Groupon experience last night. First of all, this restaurant is rarely crowded. So last night, being the last night you could use your groupon, sent them a little more business than they are used to (which by the way, was equivalent to a NORMAL size crowd at most successful restaurants in nashville). But Wine Loft had NO idea what to do. It is clear that they are not prepared for a crowd. This is a place where some nights you could easily be the only person in the whole restaurant. You would think they were excited and well prepared for a Groupon crowd. But it was clear they hated everyone in there. You could literally hear rumblings all around you of people complaining about the service here year round. The (2) bartenders were horrible. Right when we sat down we asked about a cheese plate but they refused to bring us any appetizers bc the kitchen was "backed up" so they decided to stop serving food altogether (which is almost laughable. Again, who does that?). THEN that bartender decided to sit there and dry off wine glasses for 25 min without asking me for a drink order- until the other bartender had to ask him to take care of me. Last thing that really threw me was them adding 18% gratuity for a 2person check without telling me. After I cashed out and signed my receipt, I casually asked why i had a $16 balance when I had purchased 2 $30 bottles of wine (Groupon was for $60) and it was THEN that he informed me that they ran my card for gratuity. WOW. So wrong. This place has horrible service anyways and there is a reason it is always dead in there. Clearly they like it that way. I will do my best to spread the word to the rest of the folks in this Music Business that this place is the LAST place you want to spend your dollars at.
Stay Away – Rude and overpriced. Very bad experience. All employees were so rude. They had the attitude that they were doing us a favor by waiting on us. Then to top off the very bad service and rude employees, they charged us 18% on our bill for two people. If you are going to spend this kind of money, go somewhere else.
Good for hipsters, not for true winos – My fiancee and I love wine and headed over to the wine loft last weekend after dinner. Neither of us was impressed with the wine selection (very heavy on California reds) and the atmosphere was just a little too "hip" - though it grew on me. I also ordered tiramisu - which was good.
Every waitress I saw was on the clumsy side. Ours broke the cork and had to go extract it by unknown means in the kitchen and the one at the table next to us knocked over a glass onto one of the guests. It was also very hard to get the server's attention, but it is a large space...
