The best-kept secret in Los Angeles – Probably the best neighborhood pub in Los Angeles. The Times is as authentic as it gets, with a great, real clientele (i.e., no "Hollywood" types here-- and the Hollywood types that do frequent the place are down-to-earth, cool people), reasonably-priced drinks, and good pub food. A great place for a drink after work, a Friday night out with the boys (or girls), or watching a game on a Sunday afternoon.
Jolly old times abound at this tidy Culver City Irish pub. – The Scene
Although it's practically underneath a freeway overpass, this small pub is charming and exuberant inside. The rustic wooden walls are illuminated by Christmas lights, and a long bar boasts several imports on tap. Among the requisite pool table and Golden Tee is an astoundingly clean and refined dining area, with linen-covered tables and red vinyl booths. The crowd is cheerful, clean-cut and a refreshingly diverse mix of men and women, young and old, yuppie and scruffy. The soundtrack is more Bowie and Brit-pop than Skynyrd and Freedom Rock.
The obvious Irish theme extends to more than just the flag on the wall. European beers here are $4 a pint--an extra buck for Guinness--and the full service menu is authentic Euro pub grub. Skip the burgers and try bangers and mash, shepherd's pie or fish-and-chips to get the full experience.
Good times at Irish Times – You're likely to run into a few actual Irishmen at Irish Times, which is quite a pleasant surprise. The regulars are as friendly as the bartenders, and the place is surprisingly clean and cheerful for the neighborhood. Darts are free, pool costs three quarters, and the drinks are a little pricey but high in quality. If you're in the Culver City area, definitely stop by sometime with a few friends, you'll have a blast.
great local watering hole – this place is everything you could ask for in a local bar - resonable priced drinks, friendly bartenders who remember your name, good mix of people, pool, darts, live music, bangers & mash - just a real friendly atmosphere. there is a parking lot out back thats usually only full on weekends because you have to know how to get into the alley. cool place for a drink or two before or after a night of barhopping.
