Hate Crimes Against Their Own Customers – Staff physically assaulted a patron for being a "f_g". Disturbing vibe altogether, and the food was bland, unappealing and overpriced.

It had kind of a "gang" feel, very creepy - crawling with family, relatives and staff - frankly, the assault on the patron was scary. It felt very out of control, and I actually felt unsafe while there.

I would only recommend this place if you are white or latino, and heterosexual. And not afraid of receiving a possible beating.

Horrible people=horrible food – The only dish this restaurant serves is HATE. They are NOT friendly. Do not support this owner or staff by spending your money here. They discriminate & judge every customer that comes through the door. They even know how to be incredibly rude over the phone. Go somewhere else if you want good food & good people.

Boycott This Restaurant – my friends, who live on greenpoint avenue, were just physically removed from the restaurant after being told that they "don't want f*gs here". Boycott this restaurant!

The Place for Fine Food & Drink – I do not cook so I search for the best meal and the most reasonable price when I go out and for take out food too. Well, I stumbled on a new local restaurant named Sabor that is a home-run in both "eat-in" and "take-out!"

I stopped in there for lunch one day and was amazed at the choices provided for "Lunch Specials" at $7.95. I chose the half chicken which comes with a choice of one side dish, soda, and salad. This dish came with a nice sized chicken and I chose the rice & beans as my side dish. The chicken was well seasoned and it came with a "green dipping sauce" that was simply deliciously spicy. I was "stuffed" and pleased with my lunch as a quality meal. And all for $7.95!!! You couldn't even go to a low-grade eatery like McDonald's and be this well fed for $7.95. Also, if it is too cold, or I feel too lazy to go out, this new restaurant Sabor will deliver it to my door for no extra charge.

I was so happy with my lunch that I returned on a different day during the evening to try dinner. For starters I had the Calamar Frito which is fried calamari, and it was so perfectly cooked and battered whereby it was rather soft instead of tuff and chewy. And I've had calamari just about everywhere and by far this was one of the best cooked. For dinner I chose Salmon which is called Salmon Tropical which is seasoned with a mango, papaya, orange sauce that gave the salmon a unique "tropical" taste as it is so properly named. Along with the salmon I ordered maduros which are plaintains that had such a sweet sauce I almost thought it was desert! Again a home-run as the service was fairly quick, courteous, and outright friendly. I actually felt more like an old-friend instead of a customer. It was a nice change of pace for me as a person who eats out as often as I do.

Sabor is also has a full bar and now this is an area where I am very discerning as I am a "drinker" who apreciates the taste of liquor. I am often disgruntled at establishments that "waterdown" their liquor or refill top-shelf liquor bottles with that of lesser quality. I am happy to attest to Sabor's bar as being top-notch and obviously a "drinking man's" bar as the liquor served is the liquor served and I have now made Sabor's Bar my personal "watering hole" for those nights I wish to indulge myself with drink. I find Sabor to easily become "the" next spot to be at when in Greenpoint.

Great place for good ceviche – They have this crazy ceviche thats made from a fish called corvina. It comes in cups made out of tostones, amazing zing. They have food from all over, cuba, peru etc. I had entrana cubana which is skirt steak. I ate half of it and got the rest to go. when i got home i found out they filled the take out dish up with more rice and beans, it was like a whole other meal, it's those little things that make you go back!
