Love this place for concerts because of the small intimate space. Reminds us of when MTV use to do the unplugged series of concerts and the fans were right there with the performer.

Additionally, make sure you check out their Gospel Brunch on Sundays.

Top acts come through this venue. Drinks prices are astronomical, go figure. But the restaurant is headed by one of the best chefs in town.

Great new concert venue – I've been to the House of Blues in LA and Chicago and I have to say the Houston chapter does a great job representing. One of the newest live music venues in Houston, HOB has a great intimate vibe for smaller concerts. I saw Usher here and more recently, Timbaland, and Estelle - all great concerts because the space is small enough for you to get up close and personal. I always get the general admission tix because they are affordable and they give the greatest view. You will have to stand for the entire concert but it is worth it to be able to see your artist. At the Estelle concert, I was in the front row, and Kid Cudi opened for her, bringing down the house.

Good Place to see a show – Decent place to see a show, but definitely would recommend the balcony seats. Standing the whole time, is well, just not fun. Grab some seats and truyly enjoy the show. Great views from wherever you get them.

HOB – Went to see the Doobie Brothers on Sunday and the band was good but the heat and general admission was enough to say stay at home and by a DB cd to watch. We also went into the Foundation room where it was total chaos. Large wires running in the hall way made it difficult to walk and I watched one girl fall to her knees trying to get from the concert a to the Foundation room. I wont be back to see another band here. They need management improvements.

Greata Venue – Very nice people, great place to watch a show. Recommend you try and find balcony seats so you don't have to stand the whole show. Great view, there's a bar there, and you can enjoy the show sitting. Foundation Room has pretty decent food.

Joe Satriani comes to the House of Blues! – Can't wait to go back to my favorite venue in Houston, the one and only House of Blues. Not only am I heading back to my favorite concert hall but I get to see JOE SATRIANI'S WORMHOLE TOUR 2011!!! Can't wait to see all the die hard Satch fans make it out. Don't miss it

Vortex of Misery, Pain, & Frustration--but I'll be back :-( – While I'll give H.O.B. Houston points for making it possible for everyone to be close to the action (standing room, Balcony), the entire experience is tainted by a simple, common sense touch that is lacking. No one EVER answers the phone. I called before going to see Bob Schneider recently (and Mat Kearney, The Dead Weather, and others prior) to see what the camera policy was. They don't post that on their site. I also wanted to see if I could get a dinner reservation. Of course, you can't do that online either. When you call you enter a vortex of misery, pain and frustration. The enthusiastic voice recording on the other end of the line encourages you to hold for a moment because someone is going to "help you very soon." So, not having any other way to get the information you need, you wait....and wait...and wait. Then suddenly, "click!" You're disconnected! Thinking it is a mistake, you call again, and again, and again. Call me stupid, but I've done this many times before many concerts. I ended up bringing my camera to The Dead Weather only to stuff it uncomfortably down my pants (because the lovely security staff, who look like they recently made parole--no offense--tell you that they'll toss your a** if they see a camera). Since the music is great and I'm a glutton for punishment, I'll be back this weekend to see Bob Schneider again. I won't bring my camera. I won't call. I won't call. I won't call.

Be wary of this place, rip offs at every corner – I went to see Anjelah Johnson in concert there. It was thirty minutes late from the advertised star time. Ticket was standing room only but they said I could get to the front of the line if I paid $5 extra dollars. Then you get inside and they offer you a table for 4 for $150. Cash only accepted. No credit cards. Interesting. An employee said if I wanted a real deal I could purchase an appetizer and spend a minimum of $15 and I could skip to the front of the line. I said, well, cool so I thought maybe I would and then, well, it would be $15 for each of my two guests. The whole place reeks shady and I totally would not go there again.

Best Live Music – The good stuff... consistently brings in top touring artists as well as some local up and comers. The acoustics are really great in both the main hall and the Bronze Peacock. I've been to many HOB's around the country and this one does it best.

Of course, if we want the best live music we have to pay... and pay you will to see a show here. The actual ticket price is not out of line with other venues in the area but the price for drinks is really high. It's also hard to get a beer in anything but this huge 18 ounce can. Still, like I said, it's a small price to pay to hear great music in a great hall.

HOB has been throwing many theme parties and doing Twitter contests. I won tix to the Michael Jackson Who's Bad concert, and we had a retro fun time moon walking.

We also crashed a magazine party, and there were some pretty decked out attendees.

I believe they have 4 different venues--Foundation Room and concert hall, HOB restaurant with gift shop facing Caroline, Bronze Peacock Room, Main Concert Hall with balcony.

Great venue! – Great small venue - not a bad seat in the house. Still cannot figure out why Houston crowds feel the need to SIT at concerts, but that's not the venue's fault. The bar was INCREDIBLY slow, not sort of slow b/c it was busy - just really, really bad bartenders. Have a drink at the bar downstairs in the restaurant before you go up to the venue - great bartenders and the drinks are a little cheaper. Did not have any of the temperature problems as the other posters.
