House Of Blues

Love this place for concerts because of the small intimate space. Reminds us of when MTV use to do the unplugged series of concerts and the fans were right there with the performer.

Additionally, make sure you check out their Gospel Brunch on Sundays.

House Of Blues

Top acts come through this venue. Drinks prices are astronomical, go figure. But the restaurant is headed by one of the best chefs in town.

Great new concert venue – I've been to the House of Blues in LA and Chicago and I have to say the Houston chapter does a great job representing. One of the newest live music venues in Houston, HOB has a great intimate vibe for smaller concerts. I saw Usher here and more recently, Timbaland, and Estelle - all great concerts because the space is small enough for you to get up close and personal. I always get the general admission tix because they are affordable and they give the greatest view. You will have to stand for the entire concert but it is worth it to be able to see your artist. At the Estelle concert, I was in the front row, and Kid Cudi opened for her, bringing down the house.

This outpost of the nationally known music venue chain plays host to big-name bands and major music acts. – In Short
We understand this to be true: Where a House of Blues opens, big-name music acts are sure to follow. Although the lineup is usually more rock, pop and hip-hop than blues, the draw is live music and strong bookings, and the type of bands is as varied as the crowds they attract. Folk art and rich colors explode all over this sprawling, multilevel venue occupying a large corner of the Houston Pavilions downtown. The 1,500-person capacity music hall feels surprisingly intimate, the full-service restaurant and bar on the ground floor serve first-rate Southern specialties, and the private, members-only bar called the Foundation Room caters to the cool kids.

FAIL – I know concerts are hot, but the heat at this HOB is excessive. It took 45 minutes to get drinks from the bar. The outside patio is so ridiculously small that there were about 40 people out there and they wouldn't let us go out because it was too crowded. Also, halfway through the show, all the flood lights came on, and the stage lights (and sound) went off.
