not bad, still got a ways to go – i'm one of the few still standing that can say i was there when warehouse 29 first opened. we would always hit the palms first, then warehouse 29. this was during the days when people had to wait in line to get in. the days when their large patio was full of people. and lastly, the days when guest dj's actually meant something, and played today's current trend of dance music.

i've only been to warehouse 29 a handful of times since the mid 90's. i told myself over and over to never go back. the mass of people that once was turned into a crowd of people at best. the upscale feel turned to mush when they decided to have drag night-every night. their boy's night out should be called maybe a boy will show up tonight. i hear their latin night is probably their best night dollar wise.

so, getting to the point of my writing this. last saturday 03/03/12 i once again entered warehouse 29. to my surprise, i stayed longer than the lenghth it takes to finish one beer. the club was actually pretty full of well dressed, white men. the age group varied from little twinks that think they run the world, to the sugar daddies who say they do.

it only took me giving a smile and wink to get in as a member. member admission was $5. their drink prices are average. i've always found the staff at warehouse 29 to be up-beat and friendly. however, i've never been a fan of a drag queen with a mike in her/his hand. there jokes can be very offensive, and they are usually so drunk no one can understand what they are saying anyway. their dj still needs work. the music selection was all over the place at times. songs that are recorded mixed means to mix them in. not to play them from start to finish (dj ing 101)

greensboro needs a gay night life. the days of downtown's babalon are over. (rest in peace ed). one thing for sure for everyone to know is that warehouse 29 has been around for a long time. they have had plenty of chances to throw in the towel, and they chose not to. way to hang in there guys.
