Worst Service EVER!!!! – I am a HUGE Barnaby's fan and I regularly visit the locations on W. Gray and Shepard. I took my daughter to Barnaby's cafe this past weekend on Woodway after a soccer game and was greatly disappointed. We sat on the patio and ordered our food as soon as we were seated. I over heard a table next to ours complaining over the wait on their food so I realized the kitchen was backed up and was willing to wait patiently for our food and give the server/ restaurant a break from what I suppose was a busy lunch hour even though this was 2:00pm. After an HOUR of waiting on our food to arrive (Two chicken salad sandwiches and a kid's corn-dog- virtually no cooking) the 5 top table that was seated a good 15-20 minutes after we were received their food I finally spoke up and asked. Turns out our order was never even placed with the kitchen!!!! By this time we were staving but not willing to wait for more horrible service. I will never return to Barnaby's Cafe on Woodway.

Tucked Away Secret!! – Nestled behind the old dreaded, now closed, Sweet Mesquite, the New Barnaby's is a secret hide away for excellent food and over the top service. We had lunch on the outdoor patio and one server handled the whole area without breaking stride. He was friendly and worked his tail off; considering it was 100 degrees in the shade!

We had the soup of the day; tomato basil and it was incredible. I had a turkey burger that was good; but slightly dry, and Jill had a house salad that par for the course. It was only later, the next night, that we ordered our food to go, and discovered the Hawaiian Pork Chops and the Salmon entree. It was phenomenal.

I thought the price was reasonable for the high quality of the food. I recommend this restaurant without reservation!!

Horrible Service – We have gone to Barnaby's on W. Gray for breakfast several times and always had a great experience.

I recently had family visiting from out of town and we decided to try Barnaby's on Woodway for dinner. I had been there for dinner before and we were not impressed with our meals, however, based on our prior positive experiences, we decided to give it another try.

I am not going to go into the nitty gritty details of our visit, but the service was horrendous. I don't think I have ever experienced anything like it. The waiter was downright rude and difficult to catch. We were served other people's food. We couldn't even get anyone's attention to let them know; they just slapped the food down and walked away. Finally, we just figured out whose it was and gave it to them. There's more, but that should give you an idea.....

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, there are so many great restaurants around Houston, you can do better. I ordered the tuna sandwich and the tuna was dry, dry, dry. They must have known this b/c they slopped mayonnaise all over the top piece of toast.
