very sketchy – I always thought Players was one of those places that would never change from when I went to college at UNC. When I went back there a couple weeks ago, there were hardly any females in the bar. I felt a little awkward, but stayed to meet some friends. The guys there are practically harassing the girls near or on the dance floor. The bar is dirty, the bartenders are horrible and do not know how to make a drink. I asked politely if I could have a Mai Tai remade after it was made incorrectly, and the bartender refused and told me that he knew how to make drinks and to drink what I had. I found it pretty absurd and will never go there again.

Best Nightclub I've been to in NC!! – I have to give this place props after living in Raleigh for 4 years and going to every club and bar in the area! This place is ten times better than anything in Raleigh and WS. Now i've been to better clubs having lived in Atlanta and DC before. But this place is like a frat party the girls out number the guys easily! They got a fat door guy that takes brides to let people in so watch out for him. I always stuck with the built guy who stands out thier too. This is the only thing i miss about living in Raleigh, driving to this spot on the weekend! The funny thing is i started to see alot of Raleigh people here lol!

Avoid if you can. – Don't let the four and a half stars fool you. If you average up the reviews it barely passes three... nor do they have drink specials on the weekend like they advertise.

Anyway let me tell you a bit about what you will experience at players. Upon arriving you will go up to the bar and wait 10-15 minutes to be served every time you need a drink. Once you finally get served the drink will be waaaay over priced for what it is and how much liquor they put in it. Good luck trying to find a table or moving to the dance floor because the place is too small for how many people are in there, which is surprising considering its quality (but hey I guess if you're drunk you don't care as much). If you do make it to the dance floor you will find a bunch of stereotypical chapel hill guys trying to grind up on the girls there, who happen to seem really grossed out by this for the most part. Imagine that. At the end of the night you will be lucky if your tab is correct. They do not print itemized receipts for you so you have to take their word. Our tab was approximately 40 dollars more than what it should have been, and when we talked to the bartenders about it we simply got yelled at about "how they where sick of people not paying for their S#*% all the time" and "don't argue with me I work for a living" (don't we all?). Anyway their saving grace is the owner heard the scene and compensated us for the difference (nice but a huge hassle).

So this is the place for you if you want to pay too much, get grinded up on all night, and get overcharged and yelled at when the night ends. Approach with caution.

Great.... depending on the night – Ive been on nights when we wanted to leave, and nights when we wanted to stay till sunrise. On a good night, there is a great college crowd, but on a bad night, you get a lot of older dunk guys, which is no fun at my age. The place its self is pretty neat. It allows for people to do a few different things-on one end there are booths and lots of chairs where people can just chill and socialize. In the middle between the sitting area is a nice bar- takes a while to get a drink, but its not bad. Then on the other side is the dance floor which I have to say is my favorite. They have means to keep people cool, and while its crowded, its never overbearing. The bathrooms are almost impossible to get into, but it isnt such a huge problem. The staff is great and has never given me any problems, even though I was slightly offended that the first time I went; they guy at the door eyeballed me for a good while before he let me in (I look younger than my age, but its not like I was trying to get in without my ID, or with a fake looking ID). I suppose that is their job though.

Not much of a Players Fan anymore. – This place has really changed in the past year since I have been there. You would think that a club you have been to the past 10 years on and off would except a membership from a member who has been loyal to the place for a long time. I tried to go there tonight and didn't know the membership had changed or the ownership. I couldn't get in with my old membership, which you think a really good club would let you update with from the new rules, but they wouldn't. They told me I had to know a member to get a new one. I tried that and was also turned away, which means they don't keep there word. God help bad busnesses with bad busness practices like this one. I'm reporting this to the better busness bureau. This place is sorry. Thanks for the bad memories from the past 10 years guys.

Not too sure Judged @ the door – My Husband and I went to Players on Saturday 03/17/07(Rah Rah UNC won that Night) And we walked up to the door and the doorman kinda hesitated to say if thet were open, well they were.. we were not dressed bad we just had on heavy jackets and the doorman told us @ the door that you could not get in w/o college ID and that is not what it states on the site.. I feel that we would have had a great time as we always do as a married couple but was kind of dissapointed that such judgment was used at the door.... Not everyone looks the same but everyone should know how to have fun...

A more-than-a-disco experience for a mostly collegiate crowd. – The Scene
The club attracts local students and is a favorite of alumni athletes. Nightly drink specials and a huge dance floor make this club a fantastic spot for a night out with the gang. And unlike most modern dance clubs with high-speed techno soundtracks, Players offers up a number of styles of music, from current pop hits to old-school jams. Large-screen televisions are perfect for taking in your favorite sports events.

low class, high fun. – Good club for UNC students or people who want to meet them. Drinks aren't too expensive and it's a really large place. The bar is HUGE! The dance floor is large and they do play a wide selection of music. If you don't dance (like my overly caucasian self) just chill on the leather couches and watch the game. Make sure you order the Holy Grail, but just one!
