Not worth it, has it's ups but there are far more DOWNS – I went to Eclispe with a friend, bought a single tan even though the girl really pushed a package, not unwarranted but man she wouldn't give up. Went back to tan again and bought a package, only saved me like $10, but that's a few gallons of gas, so I was game. Every time I went in, all but one of the girls were really snotty, sometimes ignored me for long periods of time while "working on the computer." They will not let you tan without lotion, while they carry many of the top brands they are way pricier than I've ever seen the exact same brands sold for in other tanning salons. On my third fourth trip, the employee put me in a stronger bed for a longer amount of time. I asked if that was okay and would I get burnt, she assured me I would be fine. I was raw when I got out, and I didn't even finish my session. I have never returned, at a loss, since I had given in and bought one of their "fantastic" packages. I made several trips to Eclipse to take friends, and only twice did I ever see a worker I'd seen before. It was very impersonal. On the upside, they are very clean and email out specials allot the time. O, and after I bought the well recommended package, on each returning trip, I was asked and nearly begged to upgrade. To me, tanning is very relaxing and calm, but at Eclipse I felt like an intruder/stranger and that all they cared about was money, not me. It's a shame because they have one of the cleanest salons I have ever seen. If they'd just higher anyone but snotty, snoody and airheaded 20 somethings, I would return tomorrow. (I'm 19, so I'm not expecting perfect service from my peers, but a bit of care would do those girls a world of good. Oh and the one who burned me seemed so utterly shocked when I walked out burned. I just smiled and said have a nice day, but later that night after constant aloe applications, I decided never again
The perfect tanning salon – I checked out all of the tanning salons close to UNC before I picked one. Eclipse was the all-around best. Great staff- not snotty or lazy like at most tanning places. VERY cute set up. Normally salons are cheesy with that whole Miami Beach feel, but Eclipse is gorgeous. Its sponge painted in this burnt orange color with bamboo everywhere. Also, there were tons of beds. You never have to make an appointment or stand in line. Very clean as well. It was actually relaxing and pleasant to visit this salon. I felt rejuvenated when I left.
Not what I expected! – I went to Eclipse tanning salon for the first spray tan of my life. When I walked in the place it was a little hot but I figured that maybe it was just me. I went back into the spraytan room, was instructed to take off my clothes and the lady, who was really nice, began explaining to me what she was going to do and the process and everything. I kept on waiting for it to get cool in there, there was a fan set up but it was hardly enough to keep me cool. Its very important when you are getting sprayed to not get wet and not sweat. This was impossible. I finally made a joke like, they need to put a, a/c vent in this room and I came to find out that the air conditioning was broken and it had been broken for a month!!!! This is crazy! my spray tan, that I payed 30 bucks for is streaky and never fully dried because it was impossible for me to stop sweating in that room or that salon before i put on my clothes, it seriously must have been 85 to 90 degrees in there. I am not exagerating. The girl was really great and did a good job but the owner or manager of this place should not be making appointments for this place in the summer with the a/c broken. I cant even imagine sitting in a regular uv bed it must be over 100 degrees in there. Anyway I don't recomend this place I feel ripped off and am not going back!
Clean and nice people – I was shocked at most tanning salons in the Raleigh/Durham area- nasty! I called to check on this salon and was not keen on the idea of them being in Chapel Hill, but their right next to Baily's on 15-501, close to 40 too! The place was very clean, staff was friendly and they had a ton of choices on beds, stand ups, packages and lotions. They sold me on a 4 month package- great buy!
