Run down and no service – I bought my wedding dress there 21 years ago and was excited to take my daughter to look at a prom dress. The store needs to be updated. I agree with the other poster that it smells musty and the carpets need to be replaced.
We were there for 20 mins looking at the dresses hung up and no one ever came out. I yelled hello several times with no answer. Someone could take a bunch of the dresses and they would never know. That's crazy! She didn't find one dress she even wanted to try on. Really, really disappointed.
Do you want to be 30 days out from your wedding an NO dress? – Reasons why you should NOT shop here.
1. One two seperate appointments they were unprepared, employees showed up 30 minutes late to my appointment with my bridesmaids to look for bridesmaid dresses. The day I went to pick up my dress it was not ready for 45 minutes and my girlfriend and I had to go sit at a near by resturant for 45 mins waiting for them to finish.
2. customer service as mentioned above was awful, when I would call it would take the owner 1.5 to 2 weeks to call me back, everytime I called. This made the process very difficult as I designed my dress and we had to pick out lace ectra.
3. I never had one fitting for my couture bridal gown, until the day I took it home, and when it didnt fit they want me to pay for alterations when I had already paid 3600 for my dress. Is it my fault they didnt do fittings? NO!
4. I would never want you to experience being 30 days away from your wedding without a dress. My dress was unable to be fixed and no I have no wedding dress and 30 days till my wedding date.
Please dont make the same mistake I did.
Extremely Disappointing Experience – I stopped by to this local bridal store to shop for a Mother of the Bride dress. I had not made an appointment, however there was not a soul in the store.
The lady who approached me asked the wedding date and informed me that there wasn't a thing she could do for me, since there was less than three months before the wedding. She did not suggest I try on some styles, she did not suggest that she could call a dress designer's warehouse to see if they had any dresses in stock (which was done at another shop I went to later and a lovely dress was found in stock) and she implied that since I was not a size 10 that I was not going to be successful in my hunt. The store smelled very musty, the carpets were in desperate need of shampooing and the air conditioning was barely functioning despite the double digit temperatures outside. As much as I prefer to deal with local merchants, I can not recommend this shop. Customer service is obviously a quality that has worn thin, and it turned out NOT to be an Enchanting Moment. Incredibly disappointing.
UN-Enchanting Moments – My life-long vision of having a wonderful experience in shopping for my wedding dress was dashed by Enchanting Moments. Excited to select my dress, my mother and I arrived early for our appointment only to be taken 40 minutes late with no apology. When Lisa, the bridal consultant, finally took us back she seemed like it was a bother for her to be there. After a difficult start, I considered leaving but decided since we traveled from Raleigh I would give it a chance. Looking back, I wish I would have left. When trying on dresses in a room without a mirror, Lisa brought them in without letting me see them from the front. How odd that I could not see a dress until I walked out where others could see it before me? It was the most bizarre shopping experience -- one that caused me to feel vulnerable instead empowered. Surprisingly, I did find a beautiful dress only to then find out that it was well over the budget I provided. Since my mother and I loved it, we decided to make the purchase and take Lisa's suggestion to pay for a "rush" delivery. After the promised delivery date passed and I had not heard from the store, I called and emailed before finally receiving a response that my dress would arrive later than promised. I was shocked at the lack of concern for the customer. It gets worse. When I arrived for my first fitting appointment, I was taken late again without apology. When I saw my dress in the fitting room, I realized that my sash was not there. Lisa, who now made herself scarce, had not informed me beforehand about the sash and was not available to help me dress. So much for spending thousands of dollars for a nice experience. One positive was working with the woman completing my alterations. She was WONDERFUL, professional, kind, and amazing at her job. When I came back again weeks later to try on my altered dress, the sash was still not there and Lisa again made herself scarce during my appointment. The woman in alterations had to help me dress, and then I had to seek out Lisa to discuss my missing sash. She did not offer any solutions or assurances and I had to insist that she mail it to me. Amazing that in this economy, EM is not interested in customer service. Just so you know, EM also does not give you a hanging bag for your wedding dress. Seriously. I am left to wonder if the contrasting reviews for this store are due to which consultant is assigned to you. I should have shopped at a store where someone would appreciate my business and enjoy what they do.
Great prom dress shopping experience! – We had a wonderful mother/daughter experience shopping for a prom dress. It was our first experience with this, and Renee at Enchanting Moments made it really easy and stress-free. She was very kind and helpful, and brought out several dresses which looked great and we loved. We narrowed it down to two, and my daughter came away with her dream dress for a decent price. I thought going into it that the prices would be really high, but they have everything from $75 - $500 dresses. We were pleased with the quality and price of our dress. It was a lovely day and a lovely experience! I would highly recommend gving it a try!
They actually sent business away! Total Snobs! – My sister-n-law called to make an appointment at Enchanting Moments. She spoke to a sales associate named Lisa who proceded to ask her a variety of questions but mainly if she was "really going to buy something." Lisa proceeded to tell my sister-n-law that she needed to get an idea for what she wanted, work out her budget and then come back to Enchanted Moments! This "sales associate" even had the nerve to tell her to try dresses on somewhere else. It seems that despite the economic crisis the rest of the world is feeling Enchanted Moments is doing so good that they can send good business away. Even worse when I called to complain to the manager, who assured me SHE would call and straighten things out she merely had Lisa call. Oblivious to her snobbish demeanor and clueless to why a customer may find it off putting for a sales associate to send away business Lisa perpetuated the situation by calling back to annoy my sister. This place may have enchanting dresses but it has pompus employees who don't know the first thing about customer service.
Thank You! Thank You! – How excited we were when my daughter received an invitation to debut at the 2008 State Deb Ball. Then I realized how little I knew about what my daughter considered to be THE most important thing - her gown. Having never done this before I immediately contacted several friends whose daughters had been Debs. I received a great number of recommendations for Enchanting Moments, so I made an appointment and we headed for Fuquay-Varina. WOW We could not have imagined a better experience. All my fears of making a mistake concerning this milestone in my daughter's life, quickly disappeared. The level of knowledge and professionalism along with some gentle guidance left no doubt in our minds that our selections for my daughters gown , party dresses and accessories were perfect. But the most wonderful part was that we had fun. Our consultant, Lisa, was a jewel, making great suggestions and still giving us plenty of Mother /Daughter time as we nedded. Vada, our seamstress, left no doubt in our minds that everything would fit perfectly. We have an appointment during an upcoming Trunk Show (new experience for me) to find a gown and cocktail things for myself. I'm certainly excited about my turn. I know it will be just as wonderful as our first visit.
A Bride's Dream! – This store was recommended to me over and over after I became engaged. From the very first phone call I was impressed. The consultant, Lisa, ask me questions in order to plan my appointment. The gowns are not hung out in the open but she continued to pull gowns based on my likes and dislikes. I was able to order a customized gown and stay within my price range! Very knowledgeable staff. They also have a great selection of mother of the bride dresses and my mom was able to find a dress that she is excited to wear. This store has been in business for a long time and they certainly know how to help a bride. I would recommend this store to anyone.
AVOID!! AVOID!! BRIDES WORST NIGHTMARE!! – this place is compeltely ridiculous. my step mom went in enchanting moments in fuquay and picked out a dress that she thought was beautiful Tried it on and with help from an associate she was told that the dress was absolutely gorgeous when the clerk knew good and well it looked really bad on her and you would think they wouldnt lie. from there she went to put more stress on my step mom and told her that she needed to buy a dress right away. my step mom. being the kind of bride thats just like every other bride out there. think that the sale associate knows everything and listens to her. and was presured into buying the dress. coming home all excited was totally suprising to the family but after seeing the photo of her in the dress we lead to tell her the truth about the dress it looked really bad. in all honesty. Crying and all upset about the outcome and demolishment of what the clerk had told her, she then calls the store asking if she could please get her money back or look at another dress. and the store clerk leads to tell her that she cant get her money back. from there the clerk said that she couldnt get her money back because they had altered it [but they only put pins in it] and it could not be returned. the clerk then said that she could come in and look at the other dresses so she set up an appointment for the following monday. On that monday my step mom went in and looked at the dress again and totally decided that she didnt like it and then the clerk said she couldnt look at the dresses or get her money back. even after the clerk had already said that she could look at the other dresses. we now my step mom that she shouldnt have bought the dress but should the clerk really have lied to her face and said it was pretty when she knew it wasnt. it is actually a law that they have to take it back within the 1st 48 hours and my step mom called within 38. Why would such a good wedding dress place that is sopose to make dreams come true want a bride unhappy??
Lovely gowns, Quaint Shop, Pleasant Staff – I had a wonderful experience at Enchanting Moments. The gowns I tried on were fabulous and I enjoyed working with the staff. While some might not believe that a shop full of couture gowns could actually exist in Fuquay, you should definitely make an appointment and give it a try before you make any sort of conclusions.
A FEW TIPS FOR THE SHOP OWNERS: The shop, while in a historic part of the old Fuquay area, could be in a better location. The lackluster exterior is very decieving and quite honestly, it really doesn't exemplify the lovely bridal gowns that are inside. It is disappointing that brides are not able to freely view the gowns and select ones to try on. They must rely on the staff to select things that they might like. I can understand this method helps protect the integrity of the gowns, but what the staff has to realize is that sometimes brides don't know what they want. Or, a bride has something in mind but if they see something else while perusing stock, they may fall in love with something else. It would be wonderful if they would display all of their gowns so that brides could choose. I can see how they might lose some sales simply because a bride never had the chance to see their "dream gown."
Don't let these things hinder you from visiting Enchanting Moments. It's worth your time - believe me.
