Great Service and great people. I'm not sure why "Joyce W." had such a bad experience with them. I went in and registered and within a few days they found me a great job. They were extremely professional and courteous and I would highliy recommend them to anyone looking for work.

I happen to be a Paralegal with 14 years experience and have worked at some of the area's largest lawfirms. Skyline Personnel's approach to finding me a job was effective...and that's all that matters to me.

A complete lack of respect toward job seekers – Problem: Unfriendly and inefficient business practices for prospective employees; a general disregard for the seekers’ time and effort; and a belittling attitude on top.

I replied to a Skyline Personnel employment ad with a cover letter and my resume. The details for the hiring employer were not visible in the ad, only a brief job description. Skyline responded, asking if I could come into their office to "meet regarding the position". I expected an interview.

When I arrived at the Skyline office, I WAS NOT GREETED WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THE POSITION, I WAS NOT ADVISED OF OUR MEETING AGENDA, I WAS NOT INVITED TO INTERVIEW. I was instead handed a clipboard full of forms and told to sit alone in their meager entry room and fill out the paperwork, then to come find the recruiter "around the corner". An application would have been fine. BUT, this paperwork included:

-4 page 'application' requesting Social Security number and all info already contained on my resume

-Homeland Security form I-9, which again asked for SS# and date of birth

-IRS form 8850 Pre-Screening for Work Opportunity Credit

-IRS form W-4 Withholding Certificate

-NC Dept of Revenue form NC-4 Withholding Certificate

-19 page "Skyline Personnel Employee Handbook" which required my signature at the end waiving any rights or claims against Skyline and associated parties if damage should occur due to the release of any of the information I had provided.

I found the recruiter 'around the corner' and asked why I was doing all of this paperwork when we hadn't even discussed the position and I had not had an interview. She said it was "their process". Then the owner or manager (seated somewhere behind me, no introduction or greeting) inserted herself into the conversation to say that all staffing agencies work this way. I have worked with staffing agencies before, and this was a first for me.

In my experience, governmental and tax paperwork is filled out upon acceptance of an offered position, not before you've even had an interview or discussed the job specifics. I would have happily filled out all requested forms if I were accepting an offer of employment.

I expressed my concerns about providing such private information so early in the process (particularly Social Security number and tax details). The owner / manager became snide and said it would be “best” if I passed on the opportunity. She reiterated her superiority of knowledge due to her vast experience regarding how things are done in staffing agencies. And she then called out a sarcastic, "Merry Christmas" from around the corner as I left the office.

I’ve been working in educational institutions, corporations and non-profits for 30 years. My experience with Skyline Personnel proved that they are not in tune with professional job seekers. Their approach was amateurish and inadequate, and genuinely unkind as well.

Quality professionals should avoid this firm. Their approach is more applicable to teenagers.
