Went out to Karaoke at the Brickhouse on Friday night. The music was so loud that the Karaoke guy was playing that I covered my ears and my girlfriend put her fingers in her ears Ear Drum Blowing. Not to mention the video played during a dance break was offensive and I'm glad no children were present. In additon the wait to sing and the rotation from the Karaoke guy was not fair. This had been my second time going and I couldn't tell if the Karaoke guy was a there to be a Club DJ or was there for the Karaoke Singer. Not good when you have to scream at a person right next to you just to have a conversation. Although the Karaoke guy did have a large song selection. Service and Food Times were also down. Pricing of mixed drinks were a little on the high side compared to bars in the area that we attended later due to the atmosphere.
Railroad Disaster – This has to be one of the worst shows in the Triangle. I visited this location back in December and Karaoke was the best in the Triangle. However it seems that they have changed Karaoke Host and this Host does not know how to use the equipment in addition he was unplugging cords as singers were singing making either the microphone or the music not play through the speakers. The sound quality was poor unlike before. I must say singers beware and stay away. In addition I must say if you want great service use the Bar not the seating area’s as the wait staff offers poor service
Waitress beware – I have always liked Brickhouse/Playmakers but Saturday night was a bummer. Packed as usual and had to wait for a table. When a table opened up my buddy and I sat down and waited for the table to be cleared. We sat in front of the main bar and had a middle aged waitress who never waited on us. Empty glasses and the tip just sat there for 20 minutes(thru the whole Hughes vs. Gracie mactch). The waitress had no problem taking care of the college kids seated next to us who just sat down. She even made eye contact with us through the whole fight. When she finally came to our table to get the tip the first thing she said was, "There is a $30 minimum to sit at the table". I'm 38 and have a nice job. I would have spent much more than $30 but there was no way we were going to give her a tip so we ate elsewhere. We even had to go to the bar to get our own beers. I like the old format at Playmakers cause the middle aged waitress was the worst. Does she want to earn money? Get new help and I might come back. I just had to let the ownership know.
Would have given 5 stars but could not.
