Worst Service EVER...

First of all Boylan Bridge does have great food, but unfortunately most of the time they are out of what we order. Tonight, I received the WORST service from any restaurant I have ever been too. My husband and my friends and I went out for dinner and we had to wait at least 15 minutes for the beers two of them ordered, our waters were empty for 20 minutes before I had to flag down the manager to get something to drink. Then, about 15 minutes after we ordered, our server came to tell us that they were out of chicken, pork, and sweet potato fries...which meant half of us were unable to get the food that we ordered. Once the food did come, it was cold. We sat for about 15 minutes after we finished eating with dirty dishes in front of us and the restaurant was not busy...there were SEVERAL servers standing around talking to one another. After someone who wasn't our server cleared our plates and we had to flag our server down and ask for our checks, it took him 10 minutes to get them...he actually had to come back over to the table and RETAKE our entire table's order to figure out the checks. I waited tables for years and I am appalled that we could receive that type of service from what has been a good restaurant in the past. Boylan Bridge just lost 9 customers...we wont be back

I want to love it . . . – . . . but I don't.

We went twice last summer when they had their old menu. Food was okay, not great, not terrible, I don't drink beer but everyone else seemed to like it. One time we went it was packed, a Friday night, we had a pretty large party, and the service wasn't great. Slow on orders/refills/etc., but I chalked it up to it being a busy night.

Went back last night, a Tuesday. The service was worse than ever. No discernable hostess, inside or out. We stood on the porch looking clueless for a few minutes, not sure if we should seat ourselves or what. Several waitresses passed us by, never so much as made eye contact. Finally grabbed one and asked if we should seat ourselves. She coudn't even be bothered to speak, just nodded. So we sat and waited close to 10 minutes for anyone to notice us, and then five more minutes before we got menus. Our waitress was very nice, but slow slow slow. Our appetizer took forever, and we had it for about 2 minutes before our meals showed up. The only way I got a drink refill was by flagging the waitress down after it became clear she was never coming back. It took us close to two hours to eat dinner here. Not a lingering dinner with desserts and cocktails, just dinner.

I'm really not a very finicky diner, I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt. But this place has problems. I want to support local, I want to support independenly owned places, but I won't go back here for food until I hear the service is better. It might be a nice place to meet up wtih friends and sit outside and have a drink on a nice day, but other than that, no thanks. Very sad.

Burned Salad? No Knives? – I had been to Boylan Bridge for a few adult beverages but never for dinner. Then I saw that there was a Groupon so I decided to give it a try.

I ordered the Grilled Romaine Wedge and my date had the Spicy Chicken Philly, along with a flight of beer. When the flight arrived and we ordered our meal, we asked for 2 glasses of water.

Just when we were finishing the flight our food arrived and I reminded our waiter about the water we had requested, as this was the first time he came back to check on us.

The Romaine Wedge was not grilled, it was burned and was stringy. I thought if I could cut it up and mix the crunchy veins in the lettuce with the wilted parts it would not be as bad. Well, I couldn't tell you because when i flagged the waiter down to ask for a knife he told me that they only have butter knives...which is what I already had (consequently butter knives are NOT for cutting).

The Chicken Philly was dry so my date requested mayonnaise, which made it a little better but the bread was so chewy it was like he was ripping it with his teeth.

Neither of us finished out meal...there was half of a sandwich (he said his teeth were sore from all the ripping) and my salad was hardly touched.

The waiter never asked how everything was, and didn't even ask when he saw that we had not eaten our food. When he brought the check, he brought the water (Thanks.).

Even though it was a groupon deal, I still feel ripped off. Poor service, bad food, no knives....No Thank you.

Great Great Great! – The wife and I went after purchasing a 1/2 off gift cert. on Z Spotlight. She had the Duck Rueben and I had the Lobster Mac and Cheese! Both meals as well as the Scottish Ale were superb!

We will be going again soon!

Wonderful Experience – Just 2 of these beers will give you a healthy buzz! I recommend the flight which is 6 small samples of all their beer. Pick the one you like and get a half pint, cause these beers pack a punch!
