Absolutely Delicious! – I just enjoyed the buffet at Kadhai for the second time. Both times have been absolutely delicious! Chef Gomes prepares excellent foods and there is so much to choose from on the menu. We were treated to a carving demonstration as well and were able to watch Chef Gomes carve beautiful art from fruit and vegetables. He is very talented and we very much enjoyed our visit.
Our Favorite Indian Restaurant – We found this gem of a restaurant with a simple Google search. You would never find it if you needed a large, overstated presence. It is tucked away in a shopping mall. We have loved it every time we have visited, which is three times in the last 6 weeks. We brought different sets of friends for each visit and all enjoyed it even though it was a first time for this type of cuisine.
The food is delicious. The staff is attentive and helpful in sorting through the large menu. They are all proud of what they offer and really want you to enjoy your experience.
Again, the food is delicious and I can hardly wait to get to last night's leftovers waiting in the refrigerator!
Amazing! – My family of 6 had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant the other night and I must say - what a pleasant experience. My 9 yr old kept saying it was such a great place to eat because the kids meals were delicious, the mango "smoothie" was awesome and the music was so relaxing. The attention to detail could be seen throughout the entire meal. From the attentive wait staff that made sure our glass kept full to the vegetable art work that came with each course. Our dinner was served in a copper pot with a votive candle underneath to make sure our dinner didn't get cold. Even the head chef came out to make sure our dinner was to our liking. There was more than enough food, and what we couldn't eat, we brought home for lunch the next day. If you are ever in the Glenwood Ave area, I would highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back again!
A Delicious Find – My husband and I were excited to find Kadhai this weekend. The staff was very personable and helpful and we enjoyed the Kadhai Paneer (excellent) and the Chicken Korma which was also very good. The vegetable samosas and bread basket were great alongside dinner (our favorite was the onion bread). We don't often go out for Indian with our kids because they don't like it but we will definitely be taking them to Kadhai. Not only do they have a kids menu (which we were pleasantly surprised by) but they also have some Indian dishes we thinks the kids might be willing to try. We are looking forward to going back!
Raleigh's Best Indian Food – Folks you need to treat yourself to the fantastic food at Kadhai, especially the lunch buffet. No kidding...its very very good and a bargin at 7.95, with lots of selections hot and cold, veg or meat. The owner chef is personable and talented and does care about his craft and the service is friendly and generally very good.
You do get a sense of community from these folks and they seem greatful to be in business and glad to have you with them and happy with your experience.
The decor is agreeably done not over blown gaudy, or overblown contemporary, and is comfortable-simple.
As with every Indian resturant I' ve been to; the dinner menu is ala carte' which is always problematic and expensive unless you dinner-dine with multiple people "family-style" which works out ok if with agreeable company.
A brief note on the reference of not being "authentic/spicy/hot" enough...have to call BS on that...its close as anyone should expect on a buffet, after all too hot is not going to appeal to the greater numbers of people whatever their culture. I would also like to point out (even to Indian natives, most who know already) Indian food is not always HOT and spicy doesnt always mean HOT....and of course ala carte meals are available any time they are open and can be made to order at any level of spice or heat...I know because I asked about this myself the first time I ate there... because I like both extra spicy, and hot myself. The folks/chef were quick to offer custom dish of any kind I wanted when inquired about....simple manners, kind response....nice people, great food...
JUST GO you'll see....
Great food! – I stopped in to try the lunch buffet and was glad I did. i tried everything on the buffet and all of it was wonderful.
I also tried the desserts and found the rice pudding to be the best I ever had. I also tried the carrot pudding and found that good too. The fruit was fresh and delicious. So good I got take out for dinner.
The place was clean and service was very good also!
Everyone should try Kadhai!!
As Good As Any Manhattan Indian Restaurant! – We had the good fortune to enjoy a wonderful meal at Kadhai while visiting family in the Raleigh area. We often eat in Indian restaurants in New York City where we are from and we all agreed that our meal far surpassed any we have eaten at home. We asked that our food be prepared "spicy" and we were impressed by the nuanced flavors and high quality of the ingredients. We ordered lassi, appetizers, spinach, butter chicken, a shrimp dish, a bread basket that had 4 different types of bread, etc. We were served very generous portions and ate until we couldn't eat another bite! The service was friendly and efficient.
Absolutely a Great Indian Restaurant – You just can’t go wrong here. Excellent service. Dishes can be spiced to order. Just have never had a mediocre meal. Always superb. Give it a try. You’ll be a believer too.
Fantastic lunch spot – Wonderful lunch buffet -- super nice servers and chef. I WILL go back when visiting Raleigh again.
Can Avoid – I would have rated this restaurant 5 star if I decided to write a review a month back.
When I visited this restaurant month back, the food was really authentic South Indian with correct level of spice/hot.
Today's visit really disappointing when I took my family to this Restaurant. It was watered down..uhm rather I should milked/creamed down version of Indian ? cooking ? Not sure what to call this.
But when I decided to give feedback to the cashier, he plainly said that they can no longer make spicy because they have to please white customers !>>@>@?? And plainly said they don't care about Indian customers as they were only few who visits them...Have they forgotten that Indians are wait and try kind of people ? Only they believe in word of mouth marketing.. So that is why I decided to write this review.
If there is not authenticity then who cares. I would surely see this restaurant going down ..
The cashier didn't even show remorse when I said this will be my last visit...Nice !
It is upto you to experiment and find out yourself if you are one of the brave soul which is willing to take risks ;-)
