HORRENDOUS SERVICE – Our family had come in for my stepsons 5th birthday dinner at 615pm on a 6pm dinner reservation on a Monday night. The entire party was seated by 620pm and beginning to order. Everything started off well enough, save for the Shirley Temples for the kids which were lacking in syrup. The oysters were good, but the bbq'd tuna was tough. We really liked the room set up and had high hopes, but after a near two hour wait for our food, we started to lose that hope. Especially when the private room next to us (viewable through a glass separator) got their food before us, even though they had arrived after us. Our server was nowhere to be found when he should have been stopping in to apologize maybe or at least give us an update on what was happening. So we went and got the manager who basically told us that the party next to us received their order first because they were "regulars." That must mean "friends" because I don't see how they're even able to obtain new regulars when they treat them like crap.

We finally received our rolls, most of which were good. However, I will say that the sapporro roll tasted like nothing but fish (which is odd considering it's just lobster, asparagus and FILET MIGNON). This is also the roll I pulled from that led to the discovery of two hairs on my plate. Short and black, you could actually see the folicles. This hair was unlike anybody's hair at our table, so it certainly didn't come from us. The waiter called it, "Japanese hair", which... to be honest, we were kind of shocked that he would say that considering he wasn't even Japanese. We had told the waiter and even SHOWN him the hair, but he did NOT tell the manager, we had to.

We were offered a gift certificate for our next visit, but why would we want to ever come back in? This was offered right before we received our checks with a 25% discount, BUT gratuity added on! These guys really thought that the "service" we received actually deserved ANY kind of gratuity? For the waitstaff, for the chefs, for the manager or even for corporate who apparently handed down a policy to openly treat friends better than honest-to-goodness CUSTOMERS who are ready and willing to spend a lot of money?

For the first time in my LIFE, I did not include a tip at all. I left angry and shocked and, honestly, a little sick to my stomach wondering what else could've been on my plate.

I doubt they''ll care about this review as, after posting my experience on Facebook, I've already received two comments from friends with their own bad experiences at this establishment (and that's an understatement from the way they tell it), so they're obviously not for change and progress over there. Never should anybody who actually works hard for their money be disrespected like that by people who obviously have no work ethic. Especially in this day and age when our economy is so bad and they were fortunate enough to have paying customers.
