I have to STRONGLY disagree with Keller J. This place is amazing. I've been going there for a while now, actually a couple years and won't ever think about going elsewhere. Mafatta has been doing my hair before she got her own shop and was working somewhere else. The staff is very kind and helpful. The manager, Mafatta, makes me feel really relaxed because I know that I'm in good hands and is nothing but nice. I love how she always does little discounts because braids are very expensive and the economy isn't too well. Overall, nice place. I just got senagalese braids about 3 months ago and they're still holding up quite nicely. I usually go there every 4 months because the braids really do help my hair grow. I would definitely recommend going there. Reading Keller J's review baffles me because that sounds nothing like the place I've been going to and I think i would know since i have been going there for years now. Also i would like to point out that for micros you never braid all the way past your hair unless you have short, thin hair and if she did braid it tight it's so your hair wouldn't slide out. You said that she burned you with hot water but you also said that you were getting micros and last time i checked you don't dip micros in hot water. I've been getting braids for a very long time and I think I know a thing or two about it. That also sounds nothing like Mafatta. Whenever I'm there she always tries her best to please the customer. I just feel the need to defend even though she shouldn't need it because she is wonderful.
WORST PLACE EVER – This place was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wont even give them one star...please do not go here spare yourself they are NOT professionals.I went here to get micro braids and this is by far the WORST experience I had...The lady that was doing my hair didnt care how she combed it she braided entirely to tight...I noticed my hair sticking out of the braids at the end (they didnt want to braid my hair to the end) and she assured me that it will not look like this in the end...later Mafatta who is the owner I believe started to do my hair as well it hurted so badly to make a long story short the end product was horrible but she tried to hide it by making sure the front was braided nicely! To make matters worse SHE BURNED ME!!!!! with SCORCHING boiling water as she attempted to dip my hair in the water and I have bruises that are still trying to heal 2weeks later.I should have left when I saw another lady complaining, yelling, about her hair but I didnt pay it any mind..her hair was awful she had microbraids 2 and her hair was sticking out (because they didnt want to use to much of their braiding hair) that I paid $250 for...The only reason the tried to correct her hair was because their were other customers there including myself. They literally stopped doing my hair to satisfy her, meanwhile I waiting a half hour for them to return.. how professional!!!! After I saw the end product I explained how I wasnt satisfied and how it wasnt a good job, they refused to do anything about it,or reimburse my money...please do yourself a favor and DO NOT go here!!!
