Had a Dr. appointment in Durham at 12 got to the restaurant at about 1:45pm ordered the whole flounder plate and tea for about 12 bucks.

Two whole flounder, hush puppies, potato wedges and slaw. The pieces of fish that had been cooked earlier which they just put back in hot grease and served. So dry, no flavor, thank God I had a snack in the car, I was so hungry, worst I have ever tried to eat. Never again.

Scallop Medallions – A scallop medallion is not a whole scallop....think pressed ham. After processing scallops they "glue" the scallop pieces and byproduct together with food glue...think egg white....and press into a log shape. After the "pressed scallop pieces" are bound by the food glue they cut them into medallions that look like a real scallop.

Truth in advertising should insist that a consumer is notified that this is a scallop derivative product and not a whole scallop.

Used to be a great place for good seafood but... – My family has eaten here lots over the past 10 years. On Saturday, January 16, 2010 we went in for dinner and ordered a large combo to share with shrimp, flounder, and scallops. My son mentioned that the scallops were overcooked and chewy. When we decided to cut into one, we noted that the flesh did not separate top to bottom as it does in a true scallop. Inside was some type of white flesh that was fibrous and tough with mixed grain running side to side.

I approached the counter and pointed out the problem. The staff stated that this was the same product they have been using for 'years' and that the 'scallop medallions' are different depending on how they are cut.

Apparently, they are no longer using the quality of real scallops so it makes me wonder what other shortcuts are being taken.

Lame – The food is okay here. I don't think the prices are great for what you get/how it is served. Everything comes in styrofoam boxes and cups. I always feel guilty about all of the trash my meal creates when I eat here, and only eat here when a certain coworker of mine insists upon it. Also, I always regret eating here, as afterwards I feel like I am in a coma and my arteries are clenching up.

This place definitely puts quantity over quality. I can never eat all of the food I get, which is good. I probably would have a heart attack if I did.

Not so Fresh afterall – Brought Croaker & Flounder from them on 12/23/07. They told me it had just come in that morning (Saturday). They looked & smelled okay, but the taste wasn't so fresh & they clearly had not come in that day as I was told. Be very careful with any fishmonger & ask them specific & detailed questions about when the shipment for the specific fish you are interested in arrived. What day, who the supplier is, ever frozen, if Frozen, FAS (Frozen At Sea), etc.

If they get annoyed, go elsewhere.

It's a surreal seafood experience, but tasty, fun and cheap, nonetheless. – In Short
A factory of a restaurant in which bright fluorescent lights pick up the glint of fish on ice, the loud speaker announces your order, the air smells of fried hushpuppies and the room is packed full like a can of sardines. Flounder, trout, oysters, clams, shrimp, deviled crab, and various fresh catches of the day can be served on a sandwich ($2.50-$5), or as a dinner plate with copious servings of coleslaw, fries, and hushpuppies.

Great Deal – I sent my parents out there and they loved it. They were wooed by how much food you get for the money. I was very pleased with my visit. Keep in mind, this is at the farmers market and ambience/atmosphere should not be factored. This is about getting a good plate of seafood at a good price.

better than the beach – In my humble opinion, this is better than the overpriced seafood at the beach!!! You can eat inside or outside, and it is really good food, also there is a LOT of it, i almost never eat it all. Prices are really good, about what you'd expect to pay 100 miles from the beach. Less than $10 will get you plenty to eat and a drink. And you can spend even less if you want.
