24 HOUR SERVICE ; 24 HOURS A DAY WEEK
SHADY, SHADY, SHADY! – Just like many, many, many, many (shall I go on) others on this site, we walked outside this morning to see our car gone. Granted, our neighborhood makes it clear they will tow if you are illegally parked, so I get that, BUT some guy named Keith that works for this shi**y company STOLE $250 out of the car. He was clearly the last person in the vehicle. We called the police and there is nothing they can do either - can't prove it was him that took it. Really??? Who in the hell does business like this!? First of all, you're pissing people off by taking their car when they simply can't find a parking space in their neighborhood because there are only 6 visitor spots for 30 townhomes, THEN you go and STEAL from them!! GET A LIFE! Stop being shady. Oh yea, and guy/owner that made a comment below trying to state they do fair business and what not - LIAR. We called to speak to him about this and all he could say was "Keith has worked for me for 3 years, I know he wouldn't steal". Uh huh, then why is $250 gone!?Horrible, horrible, shady company. Unfortuantley, I had to give one star but they don't even deserve that.
The Holiday Good Guys – A Christmas Gift.
When you mention the word Towing a grim ugh! comes to mind. You hear the same universal response from everyone "They were just waiting for me" or "I did'nt see a no parking sign" I myself have given the same response. Having lived in Raleigh on and off for over 15yrs I experienced my first car towing while moving to a new residence. Having overlooked the parking by permit only, I parked my car and took my things upstairs and left for an out of town trip. upon my arrival, I realized my car was not were I parked it. WHERE IS MY CAR? over and over I asked? A resident saw my concern and politely asked ' Do ya have a permit yet? Frustrated I replied not yet and was in a hurry when I left. He replied Well, you got towed! Wonderful I replied in a sarcastic tone. This is just what I need during the holidays and with limited funds. I then read the signage out front that clearly states the parking policy. I then called Ace towing to get my total and was floored by the amount. I explained to the lady what happened and was there anything that she could do to help me out? I admitted that the driver was doing his job and I'm not mad at anyone except myself. If there is nothing that can be done I understand but it would really help I replied. She put me on hold and returned with a question "When can you pick up the car?" I told her today if possible but that depends on the cost? She replied come get it today and it will only cost the towing fee. I could'nt believe what I was hearing, I repeated what she said and she replied that's right. I could feel a lump in my throat and the water in my eyes starting to swell, I cant believe it I replied, she said Merry Christmas! This truly was a gift because the storage fee was twice the towing fee. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and generosity. Let this be a reminder to all that "Everyone is not out for the $$$ and their are still genuine people that care for their fellow man"
Why be so rude? – So, my friends car got towed from a neighborhood last night. We shouldn't have parked there, I'll give you that, but we did not expect to be treated the way we did we went to pick it up in the morning.
We were right at Ace at 8:00, their opening time. Both gates were closed. We waited and waited, after ten minutes I called Ace, they said they would send someone right out. I waited another five minutes, the gates were still closed. I called again. They said they would open the gate.
Another five minutes passed and I just resorted to honking my horn obnoxiously at the gate. Finally, someone came out and pointed to the back gate.
How am I supposed to know to go into the back gate? Why not open the front gate? I was particularly pissed about this because it was pouring down rain and the front entrance has an awning and the back doesn't.
So long story short, my friend was very late to work, because ACE DOES NOT ACE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE.
No good. – This towing company will illegally tow your car. They will take your car knowing that you will spend as much money combating them in court as it takes to get your car out. Do not doubt this. They are scalpers that run a shady business. Way to go, ACE. Way to go.
Worst Towing Company – Ace Towing has been contracted by my neighborhood to handle any issues with illegally parked cars. As other people have stated, they come in late at night to tow people. They also come in and tow when no one has complained. I have also seen them tow a car because the registration was expired by 1 week. I find them to be rude, sneaky and if I had known they were going to be contracted by my neighborhood I would never have moved just so I wouldn't have to deal with them.
Ace Towing's response – Ace towing has been in business for 17 years. We have towed thousands of cars and done business with hundreds of companies. Our founder is a retired Sgt on the Raleigh Police Dept of 30 years, so we know the laws and respect them at all times. It is, and has always been our policy, to operate with integrity and respect to our customers. But you can't please all the people all the time. A large part of our job is impounding illegally parked vehicles AT THE REQUEST OF PROPERTY OWNERS. As you can imagine, that's not the best way to make friends. Almost always the customer feels violated by the TOW COMPANY and wants to vent or lash out at the driver or anyone else affiliated with the company. Not realizing we are ALWAYS ENFORCING SOMEONE ELSE'S RULES AND REGS. We understand this and are sympathetic to their situation. Being angry and venting that frustration is one thing. But when the conversation turns to personal insults, we don't take it lying down, and shouldn't be expected to. If you dish it out expect a firm response. After all we don't make the rules and IT IS NOT PERSONAL. We're just doing our job. The property owner or management company makes the rules. We act on behalf of them. As you would expect, if management doesn't stand behind us, as in the situation with MJ1 the system breaks down. It seems that MJ1 expects Ace towing to enforce her rules, but when the time comes for us to collect for our services she is not willing to stand behind us. On several occasions we returned vehicles, at her request, at no charge to anyone to resolve the situation. We should not be expected to work for free.
I will not conduct business anonymously with internet postings and will not respond publicly to any future postings. I invite MJ1 to come to my office and discuss it face to face, Although I don't expect it. WE WERE RIGHT AND WE STAND BEHIND OUR ACTIONS. Everyone knows who we are and where we stand.
WORST COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH – I have been a property manager for 8 years and always had to deal with towing cars at one time or another. Ace towing is THE WORST towing company I have ever worked with. They offer NO professional courtesy and NO customer service to my employess or my residents. I would not reccomend them to ANYONE for ANYTHING. The staff is rude and not worth letting on the property for ANY reason. I would question the intergrity of any employee that works or is affiliated with Ace Towing.
They don't do their job well – For all of you saying that people are ignorant for complaining about being towed:
They do not do their job well. My roommate as well as a neighbor have been towed despite the fact that they have a parking permit and do NOT have expired tags. I went outside to go to work today to find my car has been towed. I ALSO have a parking permit and no expired tags.
They don't apologize, and they don't return your vehicle. You have to go pick it up at your own inconvenience for their mistake.
Good service? Yeah right! – My roomates and I live in an apartment complex off Tryon Road. We have enough spacings for all the people who live in the townhouses, 16 spaces for 16 people. There is designated parking and this certain towing company is what is used for afterhours when non residents take our parking. My roomates and I called more than 5 times in a matter of 3 hours and still nothing was done. (In fact it's been 3 days now and no one has came out). We had to park elsewhere to get to our own house. The lady on the phone was rude and acted as if her job was an inconvenience. I suggest they hire some helpful employees or just stop their business. I'm making sure our front office hears about this.
