We were over in West Seattle to meet a friend's new puppy and decided to grab lunch before the fuzzy frivolity began.

We ducked into Fresh Bistro at 2:52PM, just squeaking in before their 3PM close. One thing that made this visit so great: our server welcomed us happily, which is not always the case when patrons arrive just under the wire before closing time. LOVED the great, "so nice to have you visit us" attitude here!

They were serving their brunch menu but nothing was really hitting me, so I went for the Wagyu-Lamb Burger (Spanish feta yogurt, cukes, red onions, butter lettuce, truffled smashed fries, charred tomato aioli) as I've been on a bit of a burger kick lately. I ordered it medium-rare.

The burger arrived and it was just wonderful! I forgot to ask for no onions so I did have to pick them off but that's my issue, not the restaurant's. The flavors of the beef and lamb melded nicely and the beef rounded out the sharpness of the lamb to create a nice, smooth, non-gamey but really flavorful experience. The only thing I wasn't totally loving was the bun; it was dense and that made it a little hard to bite through without squishing all the burger contents out each side with each bite. The only improvement I could suggest would be a Macrina brioche bun - that would take it completely over the top. If not Macrina specifically, definitely a softer bun so that you don't lose the contents of the sandwich when trying to take a bite.

The smashed fries were good, but nothing memorable. I didn't pick up any discernible truffle essence when I tasted one plain, but they were good dunked in the charred tomato aioli (hello, what doesn't benefit from a good dunking in mayo???).

We shall return here!

Delicious, local, organic – I love this restaurant! Another West Seattle gem offering great cocktails and excellent food showcasing locally-sourced meats and produce. I agree with the reviewer who mentions a few "misses" on the menu. Sometimes the chef's creativity produces things that are a little too exotic for my palate, though it's mainly the deserts that I end up feeling a bit disappointed with. Appetizers and entrees here are fantastic. Sunday Brunch is not to be missed. To quote my husband: "It's *fried eggs*! How do they do it *so much better* than me?!" Friendly and knowledgeable service here as well. You'll want to come back almost before you leave.

Best eggs benedict breakfast in Seattle! – Delicious, really enjoyed the veggies side, and the mimosa is with quality Argyle champagne for $8/glass.

Quality throughout. Great service too.

BAD VIBE – The food was good, but the server had a horrible vibe! He did not want to be there and was rude to us. I don't think I will go back and I won't recommend this place to my friends. Good luck, Fresh Bistro!

Citysearch Editorial Review – Fresh Bistro is the quintessential neighborhood restaurant: plates of fresh farm-to-table food, comfortable but not cutting-edge décor and a quiet, older lunch crowd make it a good choice when you’re in the mood for relaxed, Northwest food without a fussy scene. There's nothing fussy about the ambiance, leaving room for you to focus on the plate: the food here is decidedly local and in-season, festooned with at least a half dozen ingredients. Mains are divided between classic comfort foods (spaghetti and meatballs and lamb burgers), more upscale seafood dishes (seared scallops with grapefruit beurre blanc) and vegetarian items (wild mushroom risotto with caramelized onions, smoked curado and black garlic). Soups, sandwiches and salads are offered at lunch, and patrons favor the pork belly slider during Happy Hour.

Fresh Bistro delivers tasty Happy Hour (& next day brunch)! – Chef Dalis Chea and the team behind Herban Feast Catering have put together one of West Seattle's best happy hours with an eclectic menu - including crispy pork belly banh mi sliders (at $6/order it's okay to go for round two) - and half-off wine by the glass or three-buck beers.

Living in the neighborhood, it’s tempting to make Fresh Bistro a second living room. Though happy hour is a favorite, the brunch is also fantastic with flavors spanning Latin America, the Pacific Rim, and more. With a slate of weekly specials like Monday Night Wagyu steak night, 4 courses for $35 every Tuesday & Wednesday, and Sunday night family style dinners – it’s worth the drive over the bridge
