Good but expensive Dosa with very little Sambhar – I liked the south India food at this restaurant but gradually came to realize that they kept increasing the price of their Dosas from $7.99 to $10.99 which is almost a 30% increase in prices but they reduced the amount of Sambhar that came with the Dosa to bare minimum. Now they have new bowls which are as small as a bowl can be for sambhar and if you ask for more they charge you an extra $1.50 so you end up paying $11.50 for a dosa which is a lot. You can get a good Dosa at Spice Route in Bellevue for $8-9:00 , here they are charging you alot more. I felt fleeced - In India we get unlimited sambhar and here in the US where portion sizes are huge they give you a really small amount of Sambhar and charge you for extra serving. I felt really cheated by this attitude of incrteasing the price and reducing the quantity.
I hope they mend their practices if they want more people to come to come to their restaurant.
Citysearch Editorial Review – Despite the odd concept of specializing in both North and South Indian foods, Mayuri in Bothell puts out good renditions of both styles on its lunch buffet and great versions if you’re willing to order off the menu and wait for your food. Service is not quick at lunch, as most people are just here for the buffet, but the dosas and curries are definitely worth the wait--hot, fresh and looking worlds ahead of the (perfectly serviceable) versions coming off the buffet. Mayuri can come in a few dollars more than you pay at your average lunch buffet or for similar style food in other parts of the city, but when you taste the meat and vegetables here, you know where the money went: to getting you fresh food. So sink in to one of the overstuffed booths and relax with a lassi (yogurt drink) while you wait for your food.
deeeeelicious! – The choices were delicious! Usually we go to an Indian restaurant in Mill Creek and thought that was the best out there.
We went here based on a friend's suggestion and glad we did! The buffet has tons of bread choices: naan, dosa, pakoras.
Lots of veggie choices: salads, cut veggies like carrots and cauliflower.
The desserts were DELICIOUS! My boyfriend and I are still talking about that! They had gulab jamum (he's still raving about it), Halwa (I was in heaven)!
Service: we went for buffet so there wasn't much for them to do, but they filled our water and took our plates, were polite and busy!
The total came out to be $23.00 for two of us. A little high, but for the good food and the amount of variety...I would say it's worth it.
