DON'T RENT IT - BUY IT! SCAM AT BEST! Sorry So Long but it is worth it.

Today I returned my television that I rented for my kids which I was renting for a 90 day period. I had no intention of paying for the television 4 times the amount of what it is really worth.

The television I rented was $32.00 a week but somehow my payment date was changed from the day i signed up to another day which stated the fees. After my first payment of $45.03 i felt scammed and I complained to Rent A Center in Raleigh at (919) 821-3300 on spoke to my sales person James. I got the company policy speech. I explained that i did not sign up on the day they had my account listed for. These extra days only made my account late for the weekly payment which in fact enforces the late payment.

At this point I felt like I was getting no cooperation at all for my situation. I paid the payment because of my children but I did not want to. I should have at this point returned the Television because I know that these types of businesses only scam people out of their hard earned money.

This started a weekly argument of which I just do not have time for. I explained to these ignorant people that the date they have in their computer for my sign up date is completely wrong and I will not pay late fees for their scam. I then in turn paid exactly what I owed and not a penny more. This seem to have worked because I did not get any harassing phone calls from Rent A Center tying up my day or my time.

Now, what prompted me turn this television in was a visit to my home. The Rent A Cent guy knock on my door for a payment that was late after 3, yes 3 days late. I was absolutely floored. It kinda angered me but I had to remember that I had no intention of ever keeping this television because I would have to pay $1899 for a tv that only cost $449 brand new. The television I had was a used set which came with no box and did not have a matching remote.

I gladly told the salesperson that I did not want the Television anymore because of the repeated attempts to scam me and harass me after showing I was a good client.

Now, for anyone looking to RENT from RENT A CENTER it is just now worth it. Why pay for such inflated prices in this economy? Why pay for an item four times when you don't have too. The prices are ridiculously high and the fine print changes just about every payment you make.

RENT A CENTER IS A SCAM PERIOD END OF STORY. I don't care how attractive they make this business model it is a scam to the fullest. There is no need to purchase items at 400% interest. YES 400% interest. This is a really BIG problem in america and our GOVERNMENT allow them to operate like this with NO type of control.

Please save your money and buy the things you need as these companies are only getting richer and most Americans are getting poorer day by day.

Households on a budget lease their home furnishings, appliances and consumer electronics from this rental emporium. – In Short
Nesters who aren't yet ready to pony up for big-ticket household merchandise head to this rental facility for domestic goods ranging from stylish living-room sets and state-o-the-art refrigerators to home-entertainment "necessities" such as flat-screen TVs, gaming systems and laptop computers. Customers can choose to pay monthly and return the equipment at any time--or they can opt for the rent-to-buy option, where ownership is gained at the conclusion of an agreed-upon rental period.
