About Dr. Vanderburg – I went here as a follow up to an emergency room visit and Dr. Vanderburg did absolutely nothing for me except bill me $142. I had to go to Salem Urgent Care for the help I needed later that night because I was in so much pain. He also claims to be a Christian, but he sure seemed more worried about the fact that I was uninsured than helping a brother out. I honestly didn't think he was going to bill me for the 15 minutes he spent to tell me there was nothing he would do for me, but he did, so I feel just as obligated to submit this review.
About Dr Graven – Dr Graven 9-30-09 1:30 am
Looks like another sleepless night.
I'm feeling after yesterday event that it may be in my best interest to seek a new Doctor. Given my condition of not getting sleep lately I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing.
I feel that your bedside manners and me are not a good match. I really don't understand the way I was treated in your office yesterday. I guess It maybe due to a miss understanding and my inability to convey my thought in writing to you about not receiving colon screening from Dr West last year. Again he thought I did not have colon cancer after looking over my case. I used the wrong term "gross negligence" . I can understand why you where "pissed off" thing I was talking about you, but I feel your reaction to me given my mental condition was off base. Especially after telling you in the letter I dropped off yesterday that due to my lack of sleep I was in a extremely foul mood. I'm sure your aware of the effect that sleep depravation has on a person.
For the following reasons I'm not happy with being your patient.
Going back I don't know how many years ago...
Starting with my back problems and pain med's. I feel I was made out to be a drug addict out for a fix when I was in a great deal of pain with my back.
I'm not sure you believe I was in pain? Or maybe you think having a third back operation is better than taking A pill?
Lucky for me my back pain has gone away until a few days ago when I developed a bad pain in my left side back muscles.
If you remember you sent me to Dr York who thought because I was at the time getting better It was best to "wait and see" before getting an operation on my back.
Well wait and see is working my back is much much better. I'm very glad I did not get that operation! You can stop taking a pill but not back surgery!
If you remember you had encouraged me to have the operation .
I have never cared for your bedside manners. I also feel you don't believe what I say. This is not good for me. I have the feeling you don't like me.
I could be wrong about this but, think it's most likely time we part ways.
I want a Dr who I feel trusts me. Who wouldn't?
I don't feel that during my current medical problems this is the best time to request a new Dr. Maybe you have already decided to dump me as a patient? I don't know?
Fact is I am very unhappy with the way I was treated in your office yesterday. I feel it was unprofessional for lack of a better word.
I do want to follow through with the tests you have ordered.
However after the tests are complete I think is best I find a Dr who is more understanding and has better bedside manners to suit me.
I feel our relationship is damage beyond repair. I am sorry that I offended you but don't think you have accepted my apology.
after sending this letter to dr Graven I received a certified letter from the board of directors of the Salem clinic stating I was being "withdrawn from further professional attendance to you" WTF?????
About Dr. Frank – I started seeing Dr. Frank in 2008 when I was in the ER for the third time for extreem pain and bleeding while i was preganent. The first 2 times I went to the ER for extreem pain, the ER Dr. 's told me i was fine and the baby was ok. My 4th visit to the ER was after a party at a friends house I believe around 4th of july. I doubled over in pain and could not move, my friends said go to the hospital and we will keep your 4 year old son. When we were on our way to the Hospital I told my husband to take me home because I have been to the ER 3 other times and they said nothing was wrong. He said no, Im taking you!!!! So, I went to the ER and they took me back very quickly, thinking I was having a misscarraige. They gave me pain killers while i threw up on the other side of the bed, I had no idea what was going on. I thought i was loosing my baby. Then Dr. Frank came in and said you are a famous women!!! I was diagnosed with a headrotopic pregnancy, ( 1 baby growing in uterus, healthy) 1 baby in tube that did not make it to my uterus. I had to have surgery that morning to remove the tubal pregnancy. They removed my entire tube. But, my other baby in my uterus was fine!! How weird, huh???? Dr. Frank said that this was one in 30,000 and that he has never seen it before. After that I was the famous patient until he seen it again in the same yr, weird huh, to see two diagnoses you have never seen before in 1 year. But still, I was the first, lol. Not that im happy about it, I would have loved to have twins, but it didnt work out for me. I love Dr. Frank I think he is the greatest Dr. I have ever had, I am from New Jersey and that is where my first son was born, I wish Dr. Frank could have delivered both of my son's . Im trying to talk my hubby into having another, not successfull yet, but Dr. Frank would definatley be the man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best family care in Salem... – I started to go to Salem Clinic when I became pregnant in mid 2007, I was seeing Dr. Frank from OB-GYN. He was fantastic! He has delivered my daughter, and my best friends two daughters. He was also the Surgeon who removed her right ovary after a Dr. from Salem Hospital miss diagnosed her. After I had my daughter we went to the other side of Salem Clinic to my regular doctor, Dr. Daniels. He is also my daughters pediatrician. I love him! He's funny, he took care of me while I went through PPD and my daughters Colic. And when we started to get bills pilling up, their billing lady (who was very nice) set up a pymnt plan that really did fit our budget. I swear by this Clinic and I hope we never have to leave it.
Dr. Pederson is the best and the nurses always call to check up on patients. – Very friendly staff and Dr Pederson is the greatest, very patient and understanding. Nurses are warm and caring. Highly recomended!!!
Avoid Dr. Vanderburgh from Salem Clinic – Dr. Vanderburgh from Salem Clinic. Dr. Vanderburgh was my wife's family Doctor for approx. nine years. In 2006 my wife went to see Dr. Vanderburgh because of swollen lymphnodes behind her ear. Dr. Vanderburgh examined my wife, felt of the swollen lymphnodes and told my wife that she had a small infection. Dr. Vanderburgh gave my wife a prescription and sent her home. February 14, 2007 my wife had to be taken to Salem Memorial Emergency room for unbearable back pain. My wife was diagnosed with Stage four Lymphoma Cancer. Many Chemo. treatments, long hospital stays and a stem cell transplant has not helped. My wife's spine was broken in two places because the tumor in her pelvic area was so big. If only Dr. Vanderburgh had been a real Doctor, my wife's cancer could have been caught back in 2006 with the first signs of Lymphome cancer which is swollen lymphnodes behind the ear. If Dr. Vanderburgh is your family Doctor, be carefull because he is a poor excuse for a family Doctor.
Excellent Service – I have been a patient with Salem Clinic for over 10 years with Dr. Greg Lackides as my physician. My appointments have always been on time and very thorough. I live in Guatemala and they made quick arrangements for me to have a physical and there arose a medical problem and they were unable to locate me. Even trying through the internet. They sent a Certified Letter to my mail forwarding address, which arrived after I returned to Guatemala. They went the "extra mile" to let me know there was an issue that needed immediate attention. Thanks guys
Bad experience... – I went in with my spouse. Dr. saw us together to save him (and us) time (we both had very simple/minor issues). Appointment lasted LESS than 10 minutes, literally. We were then billed for 2 separate appointments at $125 each! I called and explained the situation to them, and tried to get them to only charge me for one appt. but they wouldn't even consider it.
