classic favorite – I remember the old store at Tryon Hills and my parents would go there for subs. Although this has been many years ago, I remember the subs and to remember eating at that restaurant more than twenty years ago, which was where Triangle Rent-A-Car is currently calling home and remember how great the food is, that is big brownie points. From those experiences, I say go and try it! To the naysayers, every restaurant has a bad day...try it again, and if it isn't better, then by all means, don't go there again.
Used to be good! Sooooooo disappointed – I have been going there for over 10 years and for the most part never had a real problem . Here and there something would be off, but that is to be expected. BUT THIS time it was awful. I asked was there a new owner and her english was so bad, she could not answer me. First of all we got the kids hotdogs, one was fine the other was grey, yes grey, meaning it was OLD. We took it to the counter and they did not even apologize, then the Orangeaid was old tasting, they left off our lettuce and tom on one sandwich, the other had brown lettuce, then the mac salad had a very strange taste. Even salt and pepper did not help it. We got one order for take out and they said the same thing. We moved a few years ago, but each time we come to town, we would go to all lenghts to make that a stop, but after this time, we will no longer do that. They did not even try to make it right!! I mean a grey hotdog to a five yr old- they should have been apologizing and offering a discount or something. The only good thing was the baked chips. So SAD!! I felt sick after eating there.
Clam Chowder Extraordinaire! – The clam chowder at this restaurant is enough to keep me coming back time and time again...... Excellent choice for lunch on a blustery winter day! Bravo!
Great fresh food!! – The food is very fresh and always prepared quickly. The steak and cheese, grilled pimento cheese and fruit salads are favorites and you must have the fresh orangeade or sweet tea!
Amazing – Our family and everyone we introduce to Boondini's love it! My husband, son and I go weekly to Boondini?s and try to have something different every time, we have yet to have anything we didn?t love! Our staples are the grilled chicken breast sub, T Hoss, the Reuben, and our 1 year old son LOVES the grilled cheese.
Sweet tea is always on point, which if you ask my super southern husband is a must!
I know they have been having some issues with a new sandwich/sub place near there spreading lies and bad reviews which is complete garbage! Obviously the only reason they are bad mouthing Boondini?s is because they are struggling to stay afloat and think the only way to keep going is to bad mouth the best sandwich shop in the area in hopes of getting stragglers business. That?s pathetic and a very poor business plan, I look forward to seeing their doors close in 6 month just for having bad business ethics, you?re a small business not a 6th grader.
ANYWAYS we love Boondinis and highly recommend it as the best sandwich shop in Raleigh. The cooks are amazing, the girl who works the counter is sweet , and so what the owner might not be the most personable person in the world he?s not there to make friends he?s there to make damn good sandwiches and that what he does!
better sandwiches at the gas station – Tons of shaved iceberg lettuce and red onions, plentiful flavorless meat that at best reminded me of grade school balogna. not sure if cheese was present or not, slathered and dripping with mustard, mayo and vinegar. Bread was burned on top and was overwhelmed by the wet condiments, will never go back, there was nothing redeeming about it.
The owner is a jerk – The food was ok, but it was diminished by the bad attitude of the owner who takes the orders. He should go back to the kitchen and stay away from customers if he hates it that much.
Great Place-Great Food – What was (haven't worked there in years) unique and special about Boondini's is first and foremost its family...family recipe's, family friends, good food, and keeping the customers happy...all of us had a great time working there...we had our ups and downs like any place of business, with that said, the owner is not as stated in other reviews, but serious about the business and the satisfaction of customers. That is rare, and should be appreciated...I was blessed to have worked, eat, and make dear friends all in one place...
discusting – Management sees rude treatment from employees toward female customers. And employees brush dirty crumbs off table on to floor. And not clean up. Not do anything about it. Employees try to start fights, interrupt, rude looks, rude back talk, rush to get rid of. Give wrong orders not volunteer to correct. Give food and drink, try to run away. Wait on two people at a time, one being female customers, try to ignore customers, grab money out of female hands, look at other people while talking to female customers, walk away from female customers while talk to them, put finger in female customers food, yell at female customers, eat while waiting on female customers, walk away from female customers and not come back.Female customers have to ask them to do job. Talk on cell telephone while waiting on customers, some of food not fresh and looks stale, not volunteer to give receipt, food, and drink purchase. Not volunteer to wait on female customers.Give bill and run away.
Good Food, Rude Owner – I assume the guy at the front all the time is the owner- and he's quite brusk and rude to the customers and staff. He may be good at part of his job- getting people through the line- but the people-friendly customer service side is lacking. I see new employees there all the time and that doesn't surprise me. The food is good, though- the sandwiches are consistently delicious. Do double-check your order, though, when you go to pay for it- the owner has a bad habit of sometimes misunderstanding what you asked for.
