I Love my Stylist Bren Anderson!!!!! He is awesome he really understands my hair. He is a great listener, he has been my stylist for 4years my cut and color is always perfect!! I highly reccomend seeing him as

he is always professional, very well educated and always has suggestions and recommendations for my hair. Would not go to anyone else.

I highly DO NOT recommend hairstylist Bren A. or this salon. You will OVERPAY for a TERRIBLE service. When I called salon I was highly recommended to hairstylist Bren Anderson. It was horrible. I am new to Raleigh and this is the second salon I have tried. Not only did Bren smell like a cigarette he was very arrogant and did not do what I wanted to my hair and he charged me way to much for what I now have to go get redone! I'm pretty sure he was way to concerned with what his plans were for that evening and gossiping with other employees about the employees there! It was a waste of almost $300.00 and I will never be back. His arrogance about himself and what he was gonna do to my hair that was so wonderful was NOT AT ALL worth my time or money. Then when I went to check out not only was it a long wait, totally overcharged the blk lady at the front desk seemed to be to busy with her cell phone to care or listen to what I had to say about my hair or the stylist. Seems really ghetto! I will never be back to this salon again it's a joke.

Terribly and unexpectedly expensive! The hairdresser I had was rather arrogant and made me feel like I was really bothering him asking any questions. I wanted with all my heart to just leave but was too intimidated. The place is busy enough, so I guess it is just me who doesn't want to spend over $240 for cut and color every 6 weeks .

FANTASTIC!!!! Have been seeing Michelle Tabbert for many years and have ALWAYS been more than thrilled by the experience. She is THE BEST, AN ARTIST. My sister (graphic designer) had a bad experience at another salon in another state, and begged me to take her to my hair stylist (I always get compliments). She is over the moon with the consultation, color, and cut Michelle gave her. Michelle is always terrific about listening to what you want, takes the time to look at pictures and colors that you want and don't want, and walks you through the steps and her rationale for the direction that she thinks would be best. She makes sure you are comfortable with her suggestions, and answers any questions you have. She doesn't rush you through any part of the process, and schedules enough time so that you feel like you can make decisions without any pressure. And then, she delivers her artistic magic. She gave my sister a fantastic cut, just like she wanted, and with color that looks fantastic (the closest she's been to her natural color since before she started turning grey)-- amazing! As a graphic designer, my sister has very high standards and a keen eye to what she wants, and Michelle gave her just that. And best of all Michelle put my sister at ease so that she had an enjoyable experience throughout the process. Way to go Michelle for taking a nightmare from another salon and turning it into a dream come true!!! My sister traveled over four hours to see Michelle, and she said she will be coming back to see her... and often!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

First DC experience – Douglas Carroll is not just a hair cut, it's an experience. I got mine done by Jordan and I was blown away by his work! He took his time and paid very close attention. I'm a photographer and I noticed that the way he looked at my hair was the way I look at photos. My experience at Douglas Carroll was the first time I realized that hair styling is truly an art. My stylist and the lady at the front desk were conversational, encouraging, and very nice. I liked the interior of the place and the products they use. My hair was smelling awesome for days! It is day 4 of having this cut and I am still being showered with compliments everywhere I go, even by strangers. I would definitely recommend Douglas Carroll to anybody! I live 2 hours away and plan to make the trip every time now. Thanks, guys!

Laser Hair Removal – My sister and I purchased packages for laser hair removal from Groupon at this salon. It's obvious the salon sold too many even though I believe Groupon lets you cap the sales. It's hard to get appointments, they often double book so you have to wait a while past your appointment time and the technician seems irritated most of the time because of the booking problems. When we first called to schedule they didn't even know what the packages were good for and the Groupon didn't specify which body parts were covered under the different options. The person scheduling said the salon used to have a sheet with the options, but it disappeared. I would say it would be important for the scheduling person to know what the Groupon covers. The appointments are not exactly pleasant. It's like a laser hair removal factory and the tech goes as fast as possible because of the schedule. I'm never asked if I'm comfortable and at the end I have gel all over my legs and I'm left alone to remove the gel with the towel from the table that's now stuck to me. It's not exactly what I expected. I guess you get what you pay for. I would not consider going back to the salon for other services based on how this has gone.

Used to be great. – I use to be a regular customer at this salon. Think they have gotten too high and mighty.....thus very sloppy customer service. I've tolerated it until last week. I called to make an appointment and was quickly placed on hold for about 5 minutes until I just hung up.

I realize customers miss appointments. But a regular customer who has never missed an appointment being asked to leave credit card information at a hair salon of all places in order to retain an appointment.......hope you have identity theft protection. Do you really trust a stranger / hair salon to keep your information safe ? What a way to offend your regular clients who made you what you are DC.

FYI....Hair Stylists should be required to re certify their credentials every 2 years as there are just too many imposters who are not skilled what so ever, whether it be listening, communicating, how to hold scissors to get the requested style, basic sanitary care.....towels between client skin and cape and keeping hands clean during client appmt. ( not eating or smoking while client at hair dryer ). Most of the stylists coming up these days lack fundamental skills and seem to provide a 1 size fits all sort of service with cut and color while they really need to be working under a more established stylist and their work should be reviewed before the customer leaves the chair. Customers are getting ripped off too much at hair salons and should not accept poor skills and basic customer service. This goes for every hair salon.

I rarely write reviews......but when hair salons take my hard earned cash and loyalty for granted, I'm going to take the time to share my opinion with others.

Dina called me Nappy headed!!!! In 2012!!! – I got my hair done today at your salon by a Dina. I just left a message at the receptionist desk. I am disappointed with my hair. I probably would have given Dina another chance but her customer service was bad. I have a dry scalp due to a thyroid issue. First, she had no dandruff shampoo (supposedly)and I specifically asked for dandruff shampoo whenI set up my appointment. Anyway, back to bad customer service from Dina. She mentioned nappy hair. She said nappy like her's because she's middle eastern and I'm black. It just didn't sound good. My hair is curly and not very coarse but fine hair so don't know where she got nappy from but rude. She put a oil treatment on my scalp instead of dandruff shampoo. She washed it but not thoroughly and barely touching my scalp. finally when Dina, styled my hair. She acted like that was chore to put curls in it. She claimed it would not style due to the treatment she put in it. Yeah right. Somehow she finally made some curls.

Anyway, I get home and my scalp is white with dandruff and very dry. Oil was not enough to cover up dandruff. It needed treatment or a dandruff shampoo. I call Douglas and talk to Jessica.I ask for my money back because my hair is still dirty with dandruff so they did not do their part. They took my money or have stolen it and will not give it back. They are racist and I am going to ask my attorney what my rights are. I think I already have an idea. I hope people white and black think twice before going to this place with these horrible rude, crazy unhappy women. I remember one other thing DIna said to me, "I guess I will do what you want". Sound like she trying to make me happy or angry because I knew what I wanted.

Just talked to Jessica (Office Manager or grunt person) and asked for my $125 back and she refused. Can you believe it? Can you believe she said that Dina is not racist because she's married to a black guy? Don't mean shelike black women and if anything probably don't like them. In the future, just give people back their money anystead of being a witch Jessica. Douglas Carroll is racist. Yet to see one other black womanin there. Good job keeping professional black people out. You might get sued for this.

Sad day in America when racist people steal from minorities. Is this why your other stylist left because you guys suck and abuse your employees and your customers? Thats what one of your old stylist told me. I wonder who that was.

I have to say that you have a PERSONAL problem and this is not a forum for you to vent about racism.

If you paid and left - then obviously the situation was not as bad as your have stated.

If I were Dina, I would consider this to be defamation of character. I would be sending you a letter from my lawyer.

The most intelligent action you can take right now is to remove this from CitySearch.
