Love, love, love Nail Bar. I have been going here for years and won't go anywhere else to get my nails done, even though there are scores of nail salons closer to me. For $15, you get a stellar manicure, free glass of champagne, (or wine, or coffee, tea, etc...but c'mon, how could you pass up champagne?) and a relaxing time. The hand massage is always my favorite part - I always want to take a nap afterwards I feel so relaxed.
The technicians are all super friendly, take their time to do an excellent job, and the owner is very involved, making sure all of his customers are happy. Also very important, is that Nail Bar is always spotless, and I really appreciate the supply of "feminine products" in the bathroom - very thoughtful haha.
Also, if you become a member you get 15% off every Tuesday and can earn points towards free services. I have gotten all of my friends addicted to Nail Bar as well, we always have a wonderful time.
Love the Nail Bar! – The staff is so friendly and knows us regulars by name. They are pretty good with their schedule but always call for an appointment during their peak hours because they can get busy. Love the chairs and that they use gloves which are a comforting thing for anyone who has seen horror stories about crazy infections from a pedicure. They received an award from the Philadelphia magazine twice now and I can see why...... there is just always a good atmosphere when you are there.
LOVE THIS PLACE! – There are alot of nail salons in Rittenhouse and I have tried most of them BUT not anymore. Ever since I walked into the Nail Bar, my search for a go to manicure or pedicure ended. No matter what time or what day I have always been greeted with a smile. Both the manager and the techs are friendly and aim to please. The store is always clean and it is clear that the manager and staff take great pride in the services they offer. Its the little touches like the complimentary wine or mimosa and the shoulder/back rub that is part of the Nail bar manicure that make the Nail Bar experience one that shouldn't be missed.
Always a great time! – I love this place!! Ever since my first experience at the Nail Bar I have returned every 3 to 4 weeks depending on my work schedule. The technicians are always so sweet and make me feel welcome when I walk through the door. Seating in their chairs and having a glass of champagne is like a mini vacation. I live in Rittenhouse Square and have been to so many nail salons in the area and the Nail Bar by far is my favorite one.
nightmare experience unqualified staff inflicted PAIN – DO NOT go near this place - they are doing the new OPI gel with heat and drills with people who are not trained or certified by OPI -- if you want a qualified person see David at Epitome in KOP or the go to the OPI site...I have had root canal that was less painful; even if the tech wasn't trained on the procedure and ground my nails to thin to take the lamps and burned me, at a minimum she should have know how to shape a nail...the owner refused to even meet me half way, his retort was "why should I lose money; you are going to bad mouth me anyway" --- hotel concierge's and Philly mag listen up - this place is NOT a good referral. What good is an offer to come back when the owner hires staff that aren't trained to use drills and heat procedures; are unsupervised. I spent close to three hours of torture and should have left at hour one - so much for fashion week in Philadelphia --- amateurs if this is Best of....
Not Worth It – I have gone to Nail Bar a few times and have tried to like . The concept is very cute and the decor is very nice. The nail technicians also do a decent job. That said, the salon itself is poorly run by an INCREDIBLY rude owner. He had been short tempered on previous occasions and I figured he was just having a bad day. During my last visit, I waited for 45 minutes to be seated even I HAD an appointment. To make matters worse, I didn't even get the technician I made my appointment with, even when I specified who my appointment was with when I checked in 45 minuted prior. The owner could care less about his blunder and blamed it on the holiday rush. Needless to say, Nail Bar lost a customer that day. I do not recommend it to anyone.
