Never eating here again – Never go here. I had to wait almost an hour for my food and it was so bad that I honestly wouldn't feed it to my dog. The atmosphere is completely tacky and distasteful. The staff is uncoordinated and the manager just seemed like a gripey mean old lady. You'd be better off on time and nutrition staying at home just eating ten bucks in ones.
Best in Durham! – We've never had a problem with waiting too long here. Maybe the last reviewer was there on a weird/off night. *shrug*
I have 3 young children and this is one of the very few restaurants I feel totally comfortable taking them too. They are an amazing family restaurant. You can tell they really love children and they go above and beyond making them happy. They give out "caught being good" coins and when your child collects 3 they may use them to get a toy out of the treasure box. Guys, I'm not talking little gum ball machine trinkets, they have full size baby dolls and remote control cars and art supply sets and really nice things in this box!
The children always get crayons and paper to color on while their food is being prepared, but they also get wikistix! This is such a great idea b/c sometimes my kids are just sick or coloring and don't feel like doing that. They LOVE the wikistix though. On Friday nights there is a wikistix contest and the kids eat free (or maybe $1 a meal) and the winner of the contest gets a $25 gift card to bring their family back to the Eno Valley Eatery, and they also get to pick a toy out of the treasure box...but the best thing is they get the honor of having they wikistix creation framed and hung on the wall of winners!
The kids still ask every year if they are going to get to go to the Eno Valley Eatery to have breakfast with Santa! This is something they do for the kids every year at no extra cost! It beats the pants off hauling the kids to the mall and standing in line for an hour just to sit on Santa's lap long enough to get their pics snapped and then get chased off so the next child can have a turn. And I can't say for sure b/c we haven't had a chance to do this one yet but I think they also have a breakfast with the Easter bunny!
The Eno Valley Eatery isnt just for the kids though, their food is amazing - you can get breakfast any time of the day! The prices are beyond reasonable, some of the appetizers are even less than $3 and I sometimes will just get one of those and eat it as my meal! The staff is all very very friendly and professional they have all taken the time to get to know my family and know what we all want to drink as soon as we walk in the door! The atmosphere is really nice. There is local commissioned art on the walls and shelves everywhere you look. The staff is always planning neat little events too, sometimes they will have themed nights and when you go to one of these they will have the whole dining room transformed into whatever the theme may be, on Cinco de Mayo they will have a limited edition menu with special mexican dishes you may order just for that night. There will be mexican decorations every where, the staff will be all decked out in sambraros and you might even see a mariachi band playing in the corner. Thats just an example of the sort of events they will have you can always expect something fun and different when you go!
My family calls it "The Eatery" and we think The Eatery Rocks! :)
Formally Lecoc...now Eno Valley Eatery...be prepared to wait! – Previously, Lecoco rest. and now Eno Valley Eatery. What a shame. Great location on Roxboro, great menu, but the service and chef are so slow, that a return visit won't be happening! This place has the potential to be one of North Durham's best restaurants. Our food was good, but cold because it had been sitting in the kitchen for so long. Our kid's meals took longer than regular entrees? The adult's were finished with their meals before the kids recieved theirs. Only 2 other full tables in the place right at lunch time. Our waitress, although nice, was very slow with getting our check to us. Please don't let bad service and a slow chef be your demise. North Durham would love for this restaurant to thrive and be all it can be but right now you are turning people away!
