POOR customer service..we waited at a table for a while before we were even noticed by the waiter..

POOR food quality..food not as authentic as we wouldve liked..

POOR location..the parking lot lighting out front of this restaurant is extremely dark ..we could barely locate our vehicles in such a dark parking lot.. i would not eat there again..definitely not at night

overall rating..POOR:(

Jamaica Jamaica Try Again. – Moved down here from up north and had been looking for some jamaican cuisine. Co-workers said theres a place called jamaica jamaica and so the journey began..Trip #1 Craving some curry chicken badly i entered and ordered. Needless to say what a disappointment, the flavor was there but just not past the skin of the chicken, it was if they boiled some chicken and dipped it in some sauce and threw it on the plate.

Trip #2: Craving some Jamaican beef patties... Co-workers were going and i didnt want to go just for beef patties so i sent some money and they aquired 3 patties for the $8 i sent...Once again disappointment.. the crust was right on the money but the beef was seasoned by the mexicans working there..all i tasted was taco seasoning like when you buy the taco kits from the market. Enough said jamaica jamaica you need to go back to your roots and stop letting mexicans season your meat.

Very Dirty...Very Disappointing.... – I used to be a big fan of Jamaica Jamaica. I still find the people there pleasant. The food is fine. The problem is I'm big on cleanliness. The sanitation grade is 96 (or97) but I was there the other night and found myself looking around and really noticing the layerS of dirt and grime in that restaurant. I mean I seriously do not understand how on earth they have an A sanitation grade. The restaurant was extremely filthy. Not just the kitchen area the dinning area outside the buffet line...it was just awful. I simply can not bring myself to go back there without a major over haul cleaning. Even if the food was cheap (which it's not) I would not go back until they have cleaned the restaurant better. Also, I would like to meet the inspector who gave this place an A. He has to be on somebody's payroll :(

Pretty Cool.. – Jamaica Jamaica is pretty cool.Prices are pretty reasonable.I noticed it took the waiter a while to prepare our food but it was worth the wait .we also enjoyed the live DJ mixing some great caribbean music while waiting. Our kids had a great time too! The food was well seasoned, wide selection of beverages & great atmosphere...not bad, we would eat there again...

depends what you're looking for – The food was good, in my opinion. Prices are . . . well, it's a restaurant. how cheap is it gonna be? I haven't had that much Jamaican food, so I can't say it's better than ___ or not as good as _____. The service was not good, but I was having a great time with friends and just thought it was funny. The waiter was . . . unrefined. There was music (DJ playing recorded Jamaican pop.) food. what more do you need? ;)

Place has a raw feel to it. Menu is hit and miss-they might have it, might not! If you like adventure, you might like Jamaica Jamaica. The plantains were kickin! Try adding the jerk chicken sauce 2 your rice.

Homophobic experience with the cook. – It's really a shame your Father passed. This is the worst resturant in RTP. The food is subpar and the staff, mainly the "cook" are extremely rude to their patrons. I was actually called a "maricon" behind by back by the cook. I guess because he's of low intellect he thought I didn't know what the word meant. Never go there again!

Ja-fake-a Ja-fake-a – It really causes me pain to give Jamaica Jamaica a bad score, because they used to be fairly decent before 2005. Now it is not even Jamaican food. According to one review, the owner died. Sorry if that explains it because the food is horrible.

Jamaica Jamaica Restaurant Receives negative Criticism since the Sudden Death of Owner – As the daughter of the late Fernando Rainford, I feel obligated to let customers of Jamaica Jamaica Restaurant know about the sudden changes to our family business. I wanted to apologize to the loyal customers of Jamaica Jamaica located in RTP for the change in quality and service. Since the sudden death of my father on November 26th, 2007, there has been and will continue to be major changes in management and food production. As a re-birth and in dedication to my father, Virgils Jamaica in Raleigh opens its doors as a take-out and catering on June 18, 2008. We hope to continue his dream throughout this new chapter in our lives.

What a waste of time.. – Ok so let's start off by saying I'm severely homesick. I moved to Raleigh in July from Brooklyn NY and I work in RTP. I've grown tired of drive thrus and crave some real food for a change. Fast forward to today. I hear people say "Oh try this place their food is pretty good - All I can say is NOT - I spent eight dollars for a stew chicken dinner and the chicken was PINK!!! Along with the food being flavorless I was truly upset. I don't what others are used to but this is absolutely disgusting. If I didn't work 10 minutes away I'd give the plate of food back to them!!! True yardies don't serve food RAW - Bear foolishness.

Petty with the portions – Jamaica Jamaica used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but it has seriously gone down in quality over the years.

What I find most annoying is the tendency to cut corners, especially when it comes to the portions. They'll chop even tiny chicken thighs in two, so that their customary "3 pieces" ends up being three teaspoon-sized bits trying to compete with McNuggets in size. At least McNuggets aren't 50% bone! If you're lucky enough to be offered a whole chicken drumstick, it too looks like it came off a miniature bird, sold on special at BJ's. If it's your bad day, you may get shorted on the grudgingly offered fried plantains too. Order dinner to go, and your meal is 90% rice.

Come on, guys! Chicken isn't exactly an expensive meat. Up your prices if you must, but for heaven's sake stop shorting your customers on their protein! Going cheap and petty isn't a good way to keep up in the restaurant business.
