good job – They always do a great, thorough job at Wilburn. I have had several repairs, as well as routine checkups/maintenance done here and have always been pleased with the quality of work.
never agian – A couple of years ago I found a dent on the right front fender of my S2000. As most peoples cars are, it was my baby. I chose Lake Norman Paint and Body because they looked like they were use to doing high end work. I had them repaint the damaged fender, the front bumper, the hood and blend the other fender. The next day I called and requested the vin numbers be covered and not painted. They lady I talked to assured me they knew not to but she would pass the word along. After a week or so I was called and told I could come pick it up. I got there and stared my inspection and first thing I notice was the VIN number on the front bumper had been painted over.... I was pissed. I asked for compensation but I was told they would do nothing. They also said if I didn't pay their price, they would hold they keys. We went back and forth and I even talked to the owner on the phone. Nothing. At this point they were closed and would not budge or offer as much as a free car wash. I decided I would just cut them a check and so could go home.... they said the would no longer accept a check from me because I was upset and may cancel the check. Once again, I was fuming. Banks are close, I can not withdraw $1300 from and ATM and I don't walk around with that sort of cash. My ride dropped me off and left and now I don't have a ride home. They did let one of the body shop guys give me a ride home ( he was a nice guy). Next day I picked it up.
I was so pissed I bought their domain for a year :)
It wasn't even a year later and the front bumper was chipped aaaaaaaaalllll to hell. It was excessive. Someone reminded me they offer a lifetime warranty on their work so I took it to them. The guy that came out to look at it said it was definitely excessive but he blamed it on the factory paint they painted over because it was chipping down to the primer and so the warranty doesn't apply. I could not believe he would hide behind that excuse. I asked them to fix my damage and do it right. I paid out of pocket and never asked for any sorta bargin job.
Now its starting to crack around the headlights....
