Horrible place! Awful customer service! Went there for pregnancy and I have 2 insurance companies! They told me they can only take your primary insurance! With my income we are covered by cigna and Medicaid. Yet they told my sister that they only tale 2 insurances if you're pregnant! They need to figure out wtf they are doing and stick with it! Awful experience! Don't go there!

Horrible staff!!

The maternity coordinator Kim And even the practice manager are two RUDE women. I'm pregnant with triplets as they stressed me out so much with their rudeness. This Kim woman was suppose to set me up an appt for a ultrasound with some other dr because they don't have the equipment they need And it took her a week plus me constantly calling for her to set up an appt that was ordered by my physician to be done the next day when it came to transferring my care to a facility that is trained to do triplets it took them another week to fax my records to another clinic that doesn't even do triplets. Every time I called she was always talking over me hung up on me on several occasions and stressed me out even more. It took me falling and a trip to the ER To find out I had a cyst on one baby umbilical cord when AWC KNEW I was bleeding from the moment they saw me 3 weeks ago. They are slow with their care and very rude ppl.

Dr. Holman knows his stuff! – As someone who has been having "femanine issues" for almost 17 years and has been to countless doctors from Maine to NC to find the problem, Dr. Holman is the ONLY one who has taken the time to really listen.

My first visit I was expecting to wait in the waiting room, be rushed to meet the Dr, rushed through the procedure with only a little tine to explain sigh a large problem and leave with no more answers than what I came in with. Thats not the case here. The staff was pleasent and I had a full workup done even BEFORE meeting the Dr. Then, the nurse came into the room, sat with me and took all my concerns down on her laptop. Then she asked me to meet with Dr. Holman in HIS office! Even before any "change into this and the doctor will be with you" statements! It was really conforting to sit in his office and have him listen to every word I said. I wanted to jump straight to one solution, but he wanted to find out why this was all happening and didnt suggest a "patch" for the problem. WOW!

I have been there two other times with Dr. Holman and I am still blown away with his expertise, bedside manor and his knowledge. He fully explains everything he's going to do and is you look the least apprehensive, he asks if everything is ok. We are on a path to finding out what is really causing my problems and I actually look forward to the visit as I know it will be productive and informative.

One recommendation I have is to make your appointment as early in the morning as you can as the waiting room is usually about 30 minutes behind. But thats OK with me as when its my turn... I am never rushed nor does the Dr show he's rushed. Dr. Holman takes his time with everyone.

Dr. Peach truly cares for his patients! – Dr. Peach perfomed my abdominal hysterectomy on 7/28/09. As a Jehovah's Witness who does not accept transfusions, quite naturally I was concerned if Dr. Peach would respect my position on this matter or even consent to perform the surgery. I have been turned down by other doctors before because of this issue. However Dr. Peach approached my situation with the utmost confidence and poise. He reassured me that he would absolutely respect my bloodless stance and provide the suitable alternatives to make my surgery successful and it was just that...a success. Two days after my surgery I was back at home and my recovery has continued to be speedy. I think that is partially due to Dr. Peach's surgical expertise and technique and just as importantly; he truly cares for his patient. This soft spoken, mild mannered man has a bedside manner that is like none other that I've experienced. For someone like myself who doesn't like hospitals and most always feel very intimidated by healthcare professionals and facilities, I approached my surgery with a considerable amount of fear and anxiety. But Dr. Peach calmly spoke with me before they wheeled me into the operating room, and his kind face, personal compassion and warmth was enough to reassure me that I didn't need to worry about anything. I knew Dr. Peach was in control and he would get me through this ordeal and once on the other side of it, I was going to feel so much better. Well folks, I am now happily on the other side of my surgery and I'm feeling great! And I have this fine doctor and very decent man to thank for that. I can tell that Dr. Peach took his time and did this surgery RIGHT. So thank you Dr. Peach for not only being such an expert physican and surgeon; but also for remembering that in most cases it is how a physician treats his patient emotionally that will leave the most lasting impression. So again, thank you Dr. Peach for remembering to treat the WHOLE person and not forgetting to tuly CARE.

Absolutely love some doctors, hate others – I started going to Ashley Women's Center when I was pregnant with my third pregnancy. I had previously had two miscarriages and was determined to not have a miscarriage with this my third pregnancy. I had been told by previous doctors that the miscarriages were just "flukes" and there was nothing they could do to give me a better chance of carrying a baby to full term. So, I was extremely happy and impressed when upon seeing Dr. Holman he was extremely understanding and said that we had several options, but he thought, from my history, that the problem might be hormonal, and he promptly placed me on progesterone. I then had an uneventful pregnancy up until 31 weeks. I had only seen Dr. Holman up to point because I like him so much, but as I approached the end of my pregnancy, I figured I had better meet the rest of the staff. So I made my biggest mistake and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Howe. The first appointment with him went okay but was very rushed. A few days later, I noticed that I was beginning to lose my mucous plug and soon after started experiencing very intense back pain, such that I had not experienced up to that point. I called the office because I was afraid it was back labor or something. The nurses reassured me that it was probably just a UTI and to come in for a urine test and a quick check by a doctor. Of course, Dr. Howe was the only one with appointment space available. I had no UTI and Dr. Howe just made me feel like an idiot for coming. He checked my cervix and said it was completely closed and told me that back pain was just a part of pregnancy and that I had better get used to it. I explained that this was much more intense and didn't really feel like muscular pain. He basically just blew me off. That night the back pain completely went away and I had no other issues with back pain at all until my water broke four days later and I experienced the same exact intense back pain. I am convinced that I was showing signs of preterm labor when I saw Dr. Howe. After being put on mag to hold off my labor, you can imagine my dissappoint when in walks Dr. Howe the next day to check my progress. First of all, he acted like he was meeting me for the very first time and then he proceeded to tell me that I was going to definitely have this baby the next day and that they were going to induce me if they needed to. This went completely against what I had previously been told, and at this point I was completely confused. Plus, Dr. Howe's bedside manner was awful. When Dr. Howe left, the nurse, who had been in the room the whole time, told me that she didn't recall hearing that plan and that she would contact Dr. Holman to find out for sure what the plan was. We found out that what Dr. Howe had told us was completely off, and Dr. Lynch came in to apologize for the confusion and took the time to completely explain the plan and reasons behind it.

Needless to say, I will not schedule another appointment with Dr. Howe and will really hope that he is not on call when I go into labor. The rest of the staff, however, is worth the possibility that I will have to see Dr. Howe again, that is how great and understanding and kind they are. When my son was about a month old, I was having extreme pain when breastfeeding and saw Dr. Peach to see if I had mastitis. Everything that Dr. Howe lacks in bedside manner, Dr. Peach makes up for and a hundredfold. After determining that I did not have mastitis, even though at that point he wasn't sure what was causing my problem, he sat with me for 1 1/2 hours, no lie, in his office trying to figure it out. Upon leaving, he said he was so sorry for the pain I was experiencing and he gave me a hug. I really needed that right then because I was so frustrated. Dr. Peach and Dr. Holman are the BEST doctors I have ever had.

worst experience of my life! – I have had several horrible experiences with Ashley Women's Center. First of all, you will be on hold for hours trying get an appointment. Their medical assistants and office staff are very friendly but their doctors (especially Dr Howe) have a horrible bedside manner. Dr Howe was on call the afternoon I went into labor with my third child. I had already been in labor over 5 hrs at home with contractions 2 minutes apart and very consistent. When I arrived to the hospital the nurse called Dr Howe to tell him I was there. He told her to check my cervix and not to call him back until I was at least 4-5 cm and fully dilated. This being my third child I was pretty sure that this was true labor and my baby was coming soon. When the nurse checked me, she said I was only 3 cm and 60% effaced and I needed to walk. Thirty minutes later, my contractions were coming every minute and were VERY CONSISTENT and INTENSE. I asked several times for an epidural but the nurse said she couldn't call Dr Howe back until I was 100% effaced. Ten minutes later, my contractions were unbearable and I was begging my husband to take me to another hospital. After 8 hrs of HARD LABOR (and no Dr Howe) I screamed to the nurse that my water had broken and the baby was coming. At that point, everyone in triage was in my room and taking notice! They rushed me to L&D and finally Dr Howe showed up to delivery my baby. His only remark was "wow, you went fast".

Four months later, I was seen in the office due to an "unidentified mass" . I was petrified. When I called for an appointment, Dr Howe was the only physician that could see me. He made me feel like such an idiot. After he examined me, he simply said " that's JUST YOUR UTERUS you are feeling". He was so nonchalant and uncaring. As I sat in his office with tears screaming down my face, he looked at me and said " it's just one of those things that comes from having babies, no big deal". I would not recommend Ashley Womens Center to anyone
